Thaci: Politics in Serbia to be part of the solution not obstacle to missing persons issue (Koha)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, met today the chairman of the Kosovo Government’s Commission for Missing Persons, Prenk Gjetaj, and discussed the closing of the chapter on missing persons and the upcoming steps that need to be taken. In a press release issued by Thaci’s office, he is quoted as saying that the issue of the missing persons is humanitarian and that “politics in Serbia should be part of the solution not an obstacle”.

Thaçi: Let us unite against human trafficking (RTK)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, participated at the organized conference for the European Union Day Against Human Trafficking. Thaçi stressed that many people in the world are facing this shameful phenomenon and Kosovo is not excluded. “This phenomenon should be prevented through concrete measures and actions,” Thaçi said. He said that this is the right momentum to united, prevent and fight this crime, in all its shapes and do more on protecting trafficked victims.

Delawie: Zero tolerance for officials who help human trafficking (Koha)

The Office of the National Coordinator against Trafficking in Human Beings today organized a conference to mark the EU Day Against Human Trafficking. Although there are efforts in combating trafficking in human beings, yet much remains to be done in this regard. The United States Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, said that Kosovo is making significant efforts in combating this crime, but there is still much work to be done in order to meet international standards for eliminating trafficking.

Thaci: Crime victims to be treated with professionalism and dignity (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci, during a conference held today on the occasion of the week of crime victims, urged all authorities that crime victims be treated with professionalism and dignity, while maintaining their privacy. KP to its members: Traveling through Serbia may not be safe (Koha)

The Kosovo Police (KP), responding to allegations made by some media that KP members are not allowed to pass through Serbia, clarified that KP respects everyone's right to move freely. "Kosovo Police respects the rights of everyone to move freely, however, referred to the latest developments and the arrest of Regional Director Colonel Nehat Thaci by Serbian authorities, Kosovo Police has an obligation to inform and its employees and suggest that passing through Serbia may not be safe and may have unpredictable consequences for our employees.

Kosovo Assembly approves resolution on Thaci’s release (media)

Kosovo Assembly today approved a six-point Resolution through which it called for the immediate release of the Kosovo Police regional director, Nehat Thaci, who was arrested several days ago by Serbian authorities. The Resolution also stresses that any communication of the Kosovo government for the arrest of Mr. Thaci should be made through the Office of the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini.

NISMA: Thaçi’s call for solving of crimes, a false slogan (RTK)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, spoke from Tirana about the arrest of the Kosovo Police regional director, Nehat Thaçi, by Serbian authorities.

Thaçi said that Kosovo cannot respond to the arrests with arrests and to violence with violence. He added that Kosovo institutions are coordinating with international authorities in order to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
