The next round of negotiations 16 and 17 November (Kontakt plus radio, Danas)

A new round of the Brussels negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina will be held on 16 and 17 November, Danas unofficially learns from diplomatic sources.

The interlocutors of the daily Danas say that the main topics of discussion will be freedom of movement and the implementation of previously reached agreement on "permanent facilities, in connection to the integrated management of crossings."

UNMIK informed Kosovo Police about Thaçi’s arrest (RTK)

Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha, is reporting on Nehat Thaçi’s arrest to the Kosovo Assembly Committee for internal affairs, security and supervision of the Kosovo Security Force.

Kosovo Police Deputy Director, Naim Rexha, told the Kosovo Assembly Internal Affairs Committee today, that the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) informed the police about the arrest of Kosovo Police Regional Director Nehat Thaci by Serbian authorities. “Serbia did not inform the Kosovo Police about Nehat Thaci. It sent the information through UNMIK,” Rexha was quoted as saying.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić spoke about the arrest of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi. He  said that Thaci went to Serbia illegally and that “all we know about him is that he was arrested based on a warrant issued in 1997.Do you believe that someone arrested him for political reasons? No one did this. There was an arrest warrant," said the Serbian Prime Minister.

Director of the Kosovo Police for Mitrovica region Nehat Thaçi, arrested by Serbian police in late September at the administrative crossing Končulj ,will be heard today at the Special Court in Belgrade.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Niš states for Tanjug that the Prosecution of Organized Crime has the jurisdiction over the case, with its office in Belgrade.

Nehat Thaçi (40) is suspected of the crime of terrorism.

Bahtiri wants suspension of dialogue with Belgrade pending Thaçi’s release (Koha)

Mitrovica Municipality staff led by Mayor Agim Bahtiri held a protest today calling for the immediate release of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi, arrested last week by Serbian authorities on charges of terrorism. Bahtiri called on the government of Kosovo to suspend dialogue with Serbia until Thaçi is released from detention. “Today this is only a protest of the municipality staff but if he [Thaçi] is not released it will turn into a powerful protest”, warned Bahtiri.

Kosovo Assembly’s foreign affairs committee is expected to come out with a joint statement condemning the arrest of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi, by Serbian authorities. Committee’s chairman, Elmi Reçica, said Thaçi’s arrest was unacceptable while head of the Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group, Pal Lekaj, said the arrest does not contribute to normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, spoke from Tirana about the arrest of the Kosovo Police regional director, Nehat Thaçi, by Serbian authorities.

Thaçi said that Kosovo cannot respond to the arrests with arrests and to violence with violence. He added that Kosovo institutions are coordinating with international authorities in order to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
