Thaçi: The issue of demarcation, nonexistent (Koha)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi during the debate on border-demarcation with Montenegro today said that this debate will be a contribution to transparency in the process of border-demarcation with Montenegro. According to him, the issue of demarcation is nonexistent. “Since the beginning, the issue of demarcation was nonexistent. Kosovo has not lost even one centimeter of its territory,” Thaçi said. He further recalled the importance of marking the border as evidence of independence and sovereignty of Kosovo.

Thaçi: No one can flee justice (media)

Several media cover Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi's meeting today with newly-appointed Minister of Justice, Dhurata Hoxha. President Thaçi and Minister Hoxha discussed the important of further consolidation of the justice sector. Parties noted that there has been great progress in Kosovo in establishing the rule of law, since the declaration of independence, and they confirmed the need for continued commitment to ensure better and more efficient functioning of the judiciary and of other institutions in the justice sector.

Families of Serbs who were killed in 1999 in Staro Gracko near Lipljan/Lipjan believe that Hashim Thaçi, Kosovo President, who yesterday laid flowers at the memorial to the victims in this village, with such a gesture, laughed in the face of the families of the victims and to all those who deal with investigations crimes committed against Serbs.

Sonja Živić, the wife of one of the killed reapers, said to Srna agency that Thaçi's arrival to Staro Gracko was "sprinkling salt on the wounds."

Kosovo President Lays Wreath at Serbs’ Memorial (Balkan Insight)

Thaci laid a wreath on Wednesday at the memorial to the Serbs who were killed 17 years ago in Staro Gracko/Gracke and said that everyone who committed crimes during the Kosovo war and afterwards should be punished.

“Today I pray in pain and express regret once again about all the victims during and after the war, to all communities. Every crime must be uncovered and punished. Crime is crime, whoever it is committed against or whoever committed it,” Thaci said.

Thaçi believes on unification of government and opposition after 3 August (Lajmi.net)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, expressed conviction that the debate on demarcation expected to be held on 3 August, will unify the government and opposition, which currently hold different positions with regards to the borderline between Kosovo and Montenegro.

He told the media after the meeting with the head of Kosovo’s Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani,  that daily politics should be left aside and that state interests should be a priority.

Thaçi: We have established a good tradition of cooperation with EULEX (media)

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, met today with the new Acting Head of EULEX Mission in Kosovo, Bernd Thran, with whom he discussed the cooperation between Kosovo institutions and EULEX after the adoption of the new law and the restructuring of the mission.

“We have established a good tradition of cooperation”, Thaçi said, adding that the cooperation shall continue.

Kosovo leaders condemn attack at Istanbul Airport (media)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, condemned terrorist attacks at the Istanbul Airport stressing that Kosovo is shocked by the news. He expressed his condolences to the Turkish population and Government.

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, wrote on his consoling letter that terrorist attacks at the Istanbul Airport are unacceptable and strongly condemned. “Nothing can justify use of violence and taking of lives of the innocent people.” Thaci wrote.

President Thaçi seeks to deepen cooperation with the Latin American Parliament (Telegrafi)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met on Monday in Panama the Secretary General of the Latin American Parliament, based in Panama, Elias Castillo. President Thaçi expressed his interest in establishing a Friendship Group in the Panamanian National Assembly and also the possibility of Kosovo’s membership as an observer in the Latin American Parliament, known as Parlatino."To Kosovo, Panama is the center of Latin America. It is among the first countries to have recognized Kosovo, therefore we have opened our embassy here.

Thaçi: Serbs are not against establishment of Kosovo armed forces (Klan Kosova)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, said that the process for establishment of Kosovo armed forces has not stalled but that there were unfortunate delays in the process. In an interview, Thaçi said it is very important that in the ongoing internal dialogue, representatives of Kosovo Serbs are not against the idea of establishing armed forces but that they insist on certain conditions being met. “I believe we will find an acceptable solution in the near future in order to have truly multiethnic and functional armed forces”, Thaçi said.
