Thaci: Montenegro’s membership in NATO strengthens security in the region (Koha)

Kosovo’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Hashim Thaci, congratulated Montenegro for acceptance of the invitation to become a NATO member.

He wrote on his Facebook page that Montenegro’s membership at NATO will strengthen security in Balkans.

“Congratulations Montenegro for the invitation for NATO membership. This is a development that strengthens security of the entire Balkans, including Kosovo,” Thaci wrote.

Kerry to stop only at “Adem Jashari” Airport? (Koha)

The United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, will visit tomorrow Kosovo. According to an agenda ensured by Kosovo Police, he is so far foreseen to meet only the Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa and Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.

This agenda does not foresee the place of the meeting, however, there are rumors that Kerry will only stop at Pristina Airport.

The well-known German daily which covers politics, economy and finance, “Handelsblatt” reported that Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, is fighting in many fronts, against radical elements, emigrant crisis and strengthening of the statehood. In an interview for this daily, Thaci said that war against terrorism and emigrant crisis can be overcome only if there is a more intensive cooperation among the Balkans states and the European Union.

Thaci: Opposition publicly threatens top government officials (Telegrafi)

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci said that the opposition representatives have made public threats against the most senior government officials. In a Facebook post, Thaci said further that the opposition’s decision not to hold protests today is because they want to buy more time “to find violent people anywhere they can because their ranks are diminishing.” He said the people of Kosovo unanimously condemn opposition’s violence as does the democratic world.

In an interview for EurActiv, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci accused Serbia of leading a war-mongering and anti-European campaign against Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO. He said the whole world was appalled at the behaviour of Serbia. “It was against the spirit of the dialogue and cooperation that we are promoting in Brussels through the dialogue process; it was against the spirit of normalisation of relations and building peace and stability,” said Thaci.
