A press release issued by Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informs that after the meeting with the Croatian President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci met with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Josip Leko, with whom he discussed extension of the cooperation in parliamentary field. Speaker Leko said that Croatia was and continues to be strong promoter of visa liberalization and integration of Kosovo in the European Union.

The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has begun consultations for taking on the post of Kosovo president in 2016. Sources from Thaci’s cabinet confirmed that the PDK leader is discussing his candidacy with party leadership and his advisors. His campaign is also expected to begin soon. Sources said that although the current coalition agreement with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) specifies Thaci’s election to the post of president next year, there are certain LDK MPs who oppose the idea.

Kosovo’s Principal Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, met today with the Israeli Ambassador in Belgrade, Yossef Levy, who is visiting Kosovo. Thaci said after the meeting that Kosovo and Israel have many things in common with regards to history, culture and strategic-political orientations. Thaci said he hopes that the good relations between the two countries will be furthered by Israel’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, said on Friday that the future of Kosovo will be unclear if it doesn't establish the special court which will address war crimes allegations.  "The alternative is the establishment of the special court by the United Nations,” Thaci said. According to him, only Kosovo enemies would want to see the failure to establish special court.  "The alternative is too painful and completely outside the authority and laws of Kosovo," he added.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, on Thursday met with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini. Thaci and Mogherini discussed Kosovo’s progress on the European Union journey. “We discussed the need to continue with the Pristina – Belgrade dialogue and implementation of the agreements reached so far, the establishment of the special court and Kosovo’s success in organizing the Conference of the Western Balkans,” Thaci wrote on his Facebook page.

After the Western Balkans Conference held today in Pristina, Kosovo’s Principal Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci told reporters that a political climate is being created in the region that will put an end to all conflicts. “The time has come to work on joint projects that will help our peoples and the new generations,” he said. Thaci also added: “It was a great honor for Kosovo and me to host ministers from the region, including Minister Dacic. We have spent a lot of time on the normalization of relations.

The Principal Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, who is hosting today’s Western Balkans Ministerial Conference in Pristina, said in his opening remarks that Kosovo is proving to be a constructive country with a very important role in the region, Europe and beyond. Thaci said: “good relations and dialogue with neighbors is one of the key requirements for moving toward membership in the European Union and NATO. This is why regional cooperation is one of the top priorities of Kosovo’s foreign policy agenda.

Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, briefed the government on tomorrow’s Western Balkans Summit that will take place in Pristina. Thaci said six regional ministers will attend the meeting as well as the EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn. “This meeting will be very important and all participating ministers will be at the same level of representation, that of the Gymnich model,” said Thaci.

Marko Djuric, head of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, stated on Monday that people in Kosovo should not be misguided that Serbia will recognize the independence of its southern province.

“The process of normalization (of relations) is irreversible, and constant delusion about Serbia's recognition of the independence of KiM is a reflection of political immaturity and a worrying lack of focus on real problems in KiM - unemployment, corruption and bad international relations,” Djuric told Tanjug.
