Drecun: Pristina should form its gov’t as soon as possible (Tanjug)

Chairman of the Serbian parliament’s Committee for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Milovan Drecun said Sunday that it was necessary for the executive government in Pristina to be set up as soon as possible as it was vital for the creation of the community of Serb municipalities (ZSO) and continuation of the Brussels process.

The Chairman of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija of the Serbian Assembly, Milovan Drecun said that there are many questions that need to be open in the area of normalization of relations, but it is obvious that the intention of Pristina is to slow down the process, particularly when it comes to the Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO). "The key question is when the executive power in Pristina will be formed. Until that happens, we will not have collocutor to discuss the issue," said Drecun for TV Pink.

“It is required to create the political basis for the establishment of Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) by adopting the statute, which is only possible through political agreements and negotiations with the political force that will be the backbone of the future government in Pristina. I expect that participation of now legitimately elected representatives of the Serbian people in provincial institutions will contribute to direct talks between us and Kosovo Albanians about the things that were already discussed in Brussels.

Kosovo delegation was unified and insisted on the removal of all barricades in Mitrovica as soon as possible as they are placed in violation to the Kosovo laws and agreements reached in Brussels, reads a press release issued by Mitrovica municipality upon return of its mayor, Agim Bahtiri, from Brussels as part of the Kosovo delegation.

Djuric: Peace Park stays on bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica (Tanjug)

Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric stated that the Peace Park built by the Kosovska Mitrovica Serbs will remain until further notice on the bridge over the Ibar River which connects the northern (Serb-populated) part and the southern (ethnic Albanian) part of the city in northern KiM.

The legal basis for the Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo will be established in the autumn, given that all the steps that lead to it will be carried out without a lot of political maneuvers. At first a new government in Pristina should be formed, so that its representatives, on a new round of dialogue in Brussels, could verify ZSO Statute. Then, the ZSO must be legally "covered" in the Kosovo parliament. 

PM: Belgrade committed to normalizing relations with Pristina (Tanjug)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that Belgrade is committed to normalizing relations with Pristina, but recognizing the independence of Kosovo, proclaimed unilaterally by ethnic Albanians, has never been a topic of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels.

We have taken on commitments regarding Pristina that we have honored, Vucic said in an interview for the German daily Die Welt, adding that the pledges from Brussels had not been easy to communicate politically to the Serbian people.
