Vekaric announces new indictments for war crimes (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric announced that indictments against over 40 war crime suspects in cases Istok, Strpce and Srebrenica would be raised in the next few months. The Serbian Prosecutor's Office has been working on the cases for three years now as these are very demanding procedures and cannot be completed within short periods of time like regular cases, Vekaric said on Tuesday at a gathering focusing on the war crime trials in Serbia in 2013. The debate in Belgrade was organised by the Humanitarian Law Centre and USAID.

But senior Western officials are insisting that the dialogue must not stop.

Defense Minister meets UN officials (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic thanked UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia Irena Vojackova-Solorano and head of the UN Office in Belgrade Peter Due for UN assistance to Serbia during the recent catastrophic floods. Gasic also underlined the Serbian government's concern over the decision of interim institutions in Pristina to form Kosovo armed forces, Defense Ministry stated in a release. "We see the international presence as a guarantee of security in Kosovo-Metohija, which is why the current process of reducing international troops is watched with concern," Gasic noted.
