CI SDP: Even 12 years later the terror against Serbs continues (KiM radio)  

The twelfth anniversary of the March pogrom is a time when Serbs are reminded of painful scenes of cultural repression of Serbian existence in Kosovo, stated the Citizens Initiative SDP.  In the statement SDP strongly condemns the fact that the organizers and perpetrators of the pogroms in 2004 have not been faced with justice over twelve years later.

Sixteen-year struggle to build safe house (KIM radio)

For more than sixteen years, women's associations in central Kosovo have been fighting to allow the opening of safe houses for women victims of domestic violence. There has been no success so far.

Unlike areas where Albanians make up the majority and where there are eight shelters, in Serbian communities there are none. Although the initiative to build a shelter for women victims of violence was initiated a long time ago, nothing has been done.

SNS and SPS are ready for elections (KIM radio)

Although Belgrade has not sent a request to the OSCE to organize parliamentary elections in Kosovo, some of the parties have begun preparations for the election campaign.

Officials of the Republic of Serbia claim that parliamentary elections will be held on the territory of Kosovo, but OSCE did not receive a formal request from the Republican Electoral Commission.

Maric: Serbs to check whether they are on the electoral roll (KIM radio)

Minister of Government Administration in Kosovo, Ljubomir Maric urged Serbs in Kosovo to verify whether they were enrolled in the electoral register to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections for the Serbian Parliament on 24 April.

According to him, citizens will show by turning up at the polls that they want to be part of what was agreed, and that was the Community/Association of Serb municipalities.

Ivanovic’s lawyers are still waiting for a written judgment (KiM radio)

The EULEX panel of judges, which sentenced Oliver Ivanovic to nine years in prison, has not submitted a written judgment to his defense, stated his lawyer Nebojsa Vlajić. The deadline for submission of the judgment in the official form is 15 days, but according to the law, the court may request an extension of 60 days, which was done in this case. The deadline for delivery of the judgment expires on 4 April. “I hope that the judge will prepare and deliver a judgment within the statutory period,” said Vlajić.

Simic: Overturning of truck is pretext for continuation of the chaos (KiM radio)

The leader of the Serbian List Slavko Simić said that overturning of the truck with Serbian goods near Podujevo is a reason for the continuation of the chaos that caused by the Albanian opposition. "It is unacceptable that the dissatisfaction within the Albanian political scene is spilled over on Serbs that live or travel through Kosovo and Metohija. Although according to the information I have, the truck driver, a Serb, was not injured, the interception on the road and throwing merchandise from the truck was the trauma for him," he said.
