Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric stated that "the EU negotiating platform for Chapter 35 on Kosovo does not require the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of the southern Serbian province, but stated that difficult negotiations lie ahead of us."

The International Trial Chamber of the Basic Court in Mitrovica has extended the house arrest for Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Citizens' Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP), until January 17, 2016.
Ivanovic is charged with war crime against civilians allegedly committed in 1999 and 2000.
Ivanovic has been kept in custody since January 2014 despite guarantees of the Serbian government.

Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo Government Dalibor Jevtic assessed the situation as alarming and that urgent steps have to be taken in order to protect the returnees and their property in this and other parts of Kosovo.
President of the Progressive Democratic Party Nenad Rasic strongly condemns the violence in the streets of Pristina, adding that in this city an atmosphere of chaos was created. Rasic says that no one can threaten lives of those who think differently or are different.
