Ivanovic's defence before the Court in north Mitrovica (TV Most, KIM radio, Politika)

Oliver Ivanovic will present today in the Municipal Court in northern Mitrovica a defence before the EULEX three-member panel of judges.

Ivanovic is in custody and charged with serious crimes committed against Albanians in 1999 and 2000 in southern and northern Mitrovica.

"Tomorrow is the Albanian national holiday and I expect that the Albanian community will celebrate it in peace. Jevtic in Staro Gracko: To remind that the killers have not been found (KIM radio)

Minister of Communities and Return in the Kosovo Government Dalibor Jevtic yesterday in Staro Gracko village has laid a wreath at the memorial for the 14 Serbian reapers who were killed on 23 July 1999.

"Not only the memorial service, but every day we have to remind that their killers have not been found to this date," said Jevtic.

Maric: Serbs are afraid of riots (KIM radio, Vecernje Novosti)

Kosovo Minister for Local Self- Government Ljubomir Maric said that the Serbs in Kosovo were intimidated and afraid that the riots in Pristina might spill over into areas with Serbian majority.

He told Vecernje Novosti that the events in Pristina were internal conflict within the Albanian community, but that one should respond promptly to these events, because that could lead, as he said, to destabilization of the situation in Kosovo.

Hoti: Bad electrical installation caused ignition of vehicle (KIM radio)

The fire on the car "Ford Fiesta" owned by journalist of KoSSev Nevenka Medic most likely was caused by bad installation, according to Besim Hoti, Deputy Director of the Regional Police in the North.

"In this case no one was a suspect, since the owner of the vehicle had problems previously with the electrical installation."

Ivanovic's house arrest extended (RTK2, KIM radio)

The International Trial Chamber of the Basic Court in Mitrovica has extended the house arrest for Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Citizens' Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP), until January 17, 2016.

Ivanovic is charged with war crime against civilians allegedly committed in 1999 and 2000.

Ivanovic has been kept in custody since January 2014 despite guarantees of the Serbian government.

 

 

Jevtic: Emergency measures to protect the returnees and their property (KIM radio, TV Most, Blic)

The house of family Lazic in Klina/Kline was stoned on Wednesday night.  Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo Government Dalibor Jevtic assessed the situation as alarming and that urgent steps have to be taken in order to protect the returnees and their property in this and other parts of Kosovo.
