President Tomislav Nikolic's platform for Kosovo could be on the agenda of the national assembly at the earliest in late July or early August.

The daily Vecernje Novosti writes that "expert and political communities, but also leading national institutions will give their opinion on the proposal in order to achieve as broader a social consensus as possible before the final debate in parliament."

Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said that she "does not know what is written in President Tomislav Nikolic's platform on Kosovo."

"I'm not familiar with the content of the platform, or with whether the platform has arrived to the cabinet. When it does, we will sit down as a team and talk about it," she told reporters in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Mihajlovic spoke after the signing of an agreement on the continuation of the construction of the Zezelj Bridge in Novi Sad.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that he was confident that Serbia would open the first chapters in its EU accession negotiations before the end of the current year.

“I hope and expect that it will happen in September, but I have still not lost hope that we can get the first chapters even earlier. These could be Chapters 23 and 24, concerning the rule of law, 32, which concerns financial control, and Serbia-specific 35 (on Kosovo)," Vucic said for Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) after a ‘Friends of Serbia’ meeting in Brussels.

President of the Coordinating Body for Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, Zoran Stankovic says it is "not possible" for the conflict in Macedonia "to spill over."

"The services in charge are doing their job, carrying out assessments of the situation on a daily basis, not only in Macedonia, but also in other surrounding countries," Stankovic stressed.

"All activities are being undertaken, such as raising the combat alertness and dispatching a smaller number of people to those territories," he was quoted as saying.

Three unidentified persons broke into the house of Neda and Miodrag Konic, Serb returnees to Klina/Kline, Kosovo, late Sunday, inflicted bodily harm on them and robbed them, RTK2 reported.

The couple Konic received injuries to the chest, due to multiple blows with a blunt object, Bozidar Sarkovic, the president of the temporary municipal governing body in Klina/Kline, said.

The elderly couple was asleep when the attackers broke in.

The incident was reported to the police and an investigation has been carried out.

Serbian Foreign Minister and First Deputy PM Ivica Dacic have asked "what would happen" if he said that "all Serbs will unite under the EU flag."

"I wonder what would happen if I said something of the sort," Dacic told reporters during a joint news conference with visiting Russian FM Sergei Lavrov , and added:

The attempt of those who orchestrated the separation of Kosovo without a referendum to doubt the expression of the will of the citizens of Crimea is "absurd."

"Russia's position on the Kosovo issue is absolutely clear and unchanging: it is only possible to regulate this problem on the basis of international law and within the framework set out in UN Security Council Resolution 1244."

MOSCOW -- Sergei Lavrov, who will be in Belgrade on Friday, will discuss bilateral ties with Serbia’s leaders, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman has announced.

"Talks with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will give them a chance to 'check their watches on the main aspects of bilateral and international agendas," Aleksandr Lukashevich said.

BELGRADE -- Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic's new platform for Kosovo and Metohija should be presented to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic "in two to three days."

This is what the Belgrade-based daily Politika reported on Tuesday.

The military security agency (VBA) chief says Serbian security services had warned their Macedonian colleagues in April about a possible "attack" there.

"Albanian terrorists who carried out the attack in Kumanovo had been in that part of Macedonia for a while, but, our Macedonian colleagues believed that these stories were exaggerated," said Petar Cvetkovic.
