Professor of the Constitutional Law Riza Smaka argues that status of Montenegrins in Kosovo is unacceptable, since they do not exist as a community in the Kosovo Constitution.
In the RTK morning TV show “Morning with Montenegrins” Smaka said that the fact that Montenegrins are not mentioned as a community by Kosovo Constitution is unacceptable and not right, and that this can’t be justified.
The best offer for Ski Center Brezovica gave the French consortium MDP Consulting, together with world-renowned operator Compagnie des Alpes. French consortium has offered a three-phase development project for the development of the tourist centre Brezovica, together with planned investment of 410 million euros and more than 3,000 new jobs. The Consortium has announced the construction of 100 kilometres of ski slopes, 20 modern ski lifts and infrastructure.
The Kosovo Assembly adopted in principle the law on the Kosovo Agency for assessment and verification of assets. The law was passed by the votes of MPs of the ruling majority while the opposition was against it.
This law deal with issues concerning legal and immovable property and facilitation of the implementation of return of cadastral documents from Kosovo, which are in central Serbia. The agreement on the return of cadastral documents was reached within the technical dialogue in Brussels between Belgrade and Pristina.
Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration in Kosovo's government Bajram Gecaj expressed hope that during this week municipalities in northern Kosovo will adopt their budgets. "We are in contact with representatives of municipalities in the north and also with the Serbian list. We are very close to the achieving of the solution. Therefore, I believe that the municipalities in northern Kosovo will soon adopt their budgets," said Gecaj.
The Kosovo government has expressed its intention to accept cadres from the University of North Mitrovica into public institutions, relocated after the war in Pristina.
"Koha Ditore" reports that the draft provides for the introduction of the University of Mitrovica into legal flows, and the government of Kosovo say they have a constructive approach in two directions.
The first involves a review of the compatibility of the Statute of the University of Mitrovica and harmonization with the central laws in order to integrate into Kosovo's legal framework.
President of the Commission for Missing Persons in the Serbian Government Veljko Odalović said that in order to continue clarifying the fate of missing persons in Kosovo, information about the new mass graves are required. "I hope that this year we will finally receive information about Kosare. We also request new search of Livočko Lake and Zilivode. However, these are our information. We did not receive information from the other side and I hope that Kosovo society will start to cooperate," said Odalović in the talk show Razgovor.
RTK2 director Zarko Joksimovic stated that behind so called Serbian media community and Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) lays financial interest of few private Serbian media in Kosovo.
No one in RTK2, said Joksimovic, is against the constructive ideas which would contribute to better law on RTK and added that such communiqués (of DNKiM) are knocking on an open door.
According to the UNHCR, 55,700 Albanians from Kosovo and southern Serbia last year filed a request for asylum.
An official of the UNHCR in Geneva William Spindler told the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) that the organization does not recognize Kosovo emigrants as "refugees". Last year the number of asylum requests in the 44 most developed countries of the world increased by 45 %, and reached the highest level in the last 22 years, i.e. 866,000 requests.
Pristina-based daily ‘Koha ditore’ reported that Kosovo government institutions will open 483 jobs in northern Kosovo for members of the Civil Protection, which is due to be disbanded.
Members of the Civil Protection will get a new boss but they won’t change the office location. They will be engaged in all government services and agencies, but they won’t change the premises which they currently use in northern Kosovo.
Mayor of Leposavic and member of the team for the implementation of the Brussels Agreement Dragan Jablanović said that agreement on the dissolving of civil protection, as claimed by the Government of Kosovo, was not reached in Brussels. "Pristina is requesting it because it has the wrong perception on the Civil Protection. They think it is an armed formation, which is totally absurd," said Jablanović, indicating that people working in the Civil Protection help in natural disasters.
