North Mitrovica: Budget still not harmonized with the MoF (RTK2)

The draft budget of the Mitrovica North still is not in compliance with the framework set by the Ministry of Finance, because as they say, they still did not receive instructions from the competent ministry. So instead of the budget, at today’s meeting unanimously was condemned violence against all communities that are associated with the football game Serbia-Albania.

Mimoza Kusari: Demolition of houses was not a political issue (RTK2)

Mayor of Đakovica/Gjakovë Mimoza Kusari Lila said to RTK2 that decision on tearing down of two Serbian houses was brought by the municipal administration because of the safety of its citizens and not because they are owned by Serbs. Kusari said that owners were not informed that their property will be torn down, and that they only informed UNMIK about it.

Rexhepi: You invent incidents and when they do not exist (RTK2)

On the occasion of the incidents that took place in the Serbian communities in Kosovo, as a result of disrupted match Serbia-Albania in Belgrade, Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi in an informal conversation with RTK2 journalist on the question of whether someone was held responsible and whether any of these cases are solved, Rexhepi said: "You invent incidents, and when they do not exist," and sent a journalist to seek an answer from the local police.

Kosovo Police Spokesperson, Baki Kelani said that the police had taken all measures to shed light on the incidents.

Jevtic: Another house of returnees set on fire (RTK2)

Kosovo Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic, said that house of Miomir Pantic, in the village Ljug, in Istok/Istog municipality, was set on fire. That is the second case of burning houses of Serbian returnees in Kosovo, in the last 24 hours. "The incident, which occurred in the village Ljug, Istok/Istog municipality, is a severe attack on our efforts aimed at bringing return to a higher level. Perpetrators of this and other incidents must be found," said Jevtic.

Rasic: Either government or new elections as soon as possible (RTK2)

Outgoing Minister for Labor and Social Welfare Nenad Rasic said to RTK2 that new elections are becoming likely and that it is better to call elections immediately than to wait. He added that current situation is not good for anyone, particularly for inhabitants of Kosovo.

“At the moment I don’t see that any side is giving up and proposing a Solomon’s solution. Politicians have set barricades and bunkers to early. In order to have a compromise, each side should give something,” Rasic said.

Rašić at Belgrade Security Forum (RTK2)

The Deputy Minister of the Interior of Kosovo Saša Rašić last week took part in 4th Belgrade Security Forum, where he presented security challenges faced by Kosovo and activities of the ministry in fight against the crime. This is the first participation of a Kosovo representative at this forum, whose main goal is cooperation in fight against security challenges in the region.

Rašić assessed that overall security situation in Kosovo is much better if compared with the previous years and underlined the declining trend of ethnically motivated incidents.
