Protest march demanding release of AAK MP Kadaj-Bujupi (Koha)

The women presidencies of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Vetevendosje Movement and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), will hold a protest march in Pristina today at 14:00 hrs demanding the release of AAK MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi who was arrested on Wednesday in relation to the recent events in the Kosovo Assembly. The organizers said the march would be peaceful and with the motto: “A state that arrests the MPs of the people is a dictatorial state”.

The Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) through a press release today demanded the immediate release of the opposition MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi. “The arrest of the opposition MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, and searching the houses of two other  opposition MPs - Albin Kurti and Albulena Haxhiu- by the Kosovo police, show clearly that the ruling-coalition is using different means to tense the situation in Kosovo,” read the press release.

All media report that police have arrested Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, MP from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), in relation to the events in the Kosovo Assembly on Tuesday. The AAK issued a press release calling on law enforcement authorities “not to turn into tools of the government and not to carry out political orders coming from the corrupt and criminals, Mustafa, Thaci and Veseli”.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group chief, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, said that the actions of the opposition parties yesterday were the only way to stop the degradation that is being done to Kosovo.  “It was the only way to interrupt the session which the ruling parties claimed it was a regular session.  Our goal was not to confront the MPs, but for the Assembly not to turn into an arena where deals against Kosovo are being made,” Kadaj-Bujupi said. “We will not step back.
