Members of the so-called “Civilna Zastita” provided security during a Serb concert held two nights ago in Mitrovica North. Guarding by this structure which functions in the north of Kosovo happened despite the reach of the agreement in Brussels for establishment of the Association of the municipalities with Serb majority, where one of its points stresses integration of the so-called “Civilna Zastita” members.

Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic said yesterday that Serbs in Kosovo still feel jeopardized and that majority population has to take responsibility for situation in Kosovo institutions.

“Our people still feel threatened in Kosovo, considerable part of them are selling their properties and leaving Kosovo,” said Stojanovic at the conference “Building Serbian-Albanian Relations”, which took place in South Mitrovica.

The Mayor of Zubin Potok/Zubin Potok Stevan Vulovic stated that he was maltreated yesterday at crossing Jarinje, in north Kosovo, by a member of Kosovo Police who requested from Vulovic’s driver to remove a sticker with municipal coat of arms and Serbia’s flag from the official municipal vehicle.

The Association/Community of Serb municipalities has received only what derives from the Constitution of Kosovo based on the Martti Ahtisaari’s plan.

Vetevendosje deputy, Ilir Deda, stated during the “Building Albanian- Serb ties” conference in Mitrovica that Kosovo and Serbia have hostile relations. “Normalization of the relations does not come by stating that we do not recognize Kosovo, or when Serbs oppose to that extent membership at UNESCO. Only reciprocal recognition can bring normalization between the two countries,” Deda said.

Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli, said during the “Building Albanian-Serb ties” conference held in Mitrovica that communication between Serbs and Albanians is the only way towards relaxation of the relations. Veseli stated that no major inter-ethnic problem occurred ever since Kosovo declared its independence in 2008, “Let us discuss to establsish communication and possibilities not only for politicians but for the citizens as well.

Turkey is opening a consulate general in Kosovo, in its historic city of Prizren, with Consul General Selcen Evcit coming into the office as of Tuesday.

 An organization called “Active students” informs that on its initiation of activities at six Pristina high schools, by setting fabric billboards against the Association of the municipalities with Serb majority, signed in Brussels between the Pristina and Belgrade governments.

“Active students” inform that the activities have been initiated at “Sami Frasheri”(social sciences), “Sami Frasheri” (natural sciences), Xhevdet Doda”, “Medial School Ali Sokoli”, “28 Netori” and “Agriculture School”, high schools.

Rrahim Pacolli, leader of the Kosovo delegation in the discussions between Pristina and Belgrade, in the field of insurances, visited today the border point between Kosovo and Serbia, Merdare.

There, he gave an ultimatum to Serbia to allow vehicles with RKS license plates to enter Serbia within seven days, or Kosovo would apply the same measures for the vehicles with Serbian license plates.

Pacolli visited Merdare to see implementation of the agreement for the free movement.

The Russian news agency Sputnik reports that establishment of the Association of Municipalities with Serb majority in Kosovo, could open way to the territorial autonomy for Albanian municipalities in southern Serbia.
