Two years since Brussels agreement (IRS)

On this day two years ago, the first agreement was signed on the principles of the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, known as the Brussels agreement. On behalf of the Republic of Serbia it was signed by then Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, and on behalf of the Kosovo Government it was Hashim Thaci, in the attendance of the former EU High Commissioner Catherine Ashton, who mediated in the dialog. The singing of that agreement was a prerequisite for the commencement of the accession talks between Serbia and the EU.
