US wants Armenia to recognize Kosovo independence (Haykakan Zhamanak)

“According to reliable sources, an unexpected problem arose on the agenda of Armenian-American relations. The U.S. tries to convince Armenia to recognize Kosovo’s independence,” ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily says. “If it happens, Armenia will become the first non-Baltic post-Soviet republic to recognize Kosovo’s independence. According to our information, Armenia is interested in this issue. Armenian diplomats told Americans that if Kosovo recognizes Karabakh’s independence, then Armenia will recognize Kosovo’s independence.

Jahjaga seeks recognition of Kosovo from the Bahamas (Telegrafi)

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met in New York with the Foreign Minister of the Bahamas, Frederick Mitchell, with whom she discussed processes important for Kosovo’s international consolidation and membership in international organisations. Djuric said that, however, it is very important to continue the negotiations and reach a political agreement on normalization. "We do not want to build the future of all citizens of Kosovo in a conflict, but rather within a normal relationship.

  Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić had talks several countries’ officials on the margins of the 69th UN General Assembly sitting in New York. He met with Spanish counterpart Jose Garcia Margalla, who reiterated Spain’s support to Serbia’s stand on the Kosovo issue. The two emphasized that bilateral cooperation was excellent at all levels and expressed an interest in strengthening economic cooperation. They also agreed that a bilateral ministerial meeting should be organized soon in order to improve economic cooperation.

UNDP celebrates 15th anniversary of activity in Kosovo (Koha)

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will present today annual results on the 15th anniversary of its work in Kosovo. Andrew Russell, UN Kosovo Team coordinator and UNDP permanent representative will host the event that is expected to gather officials from the local and central Kosovo government, donors, international community, civil society, media and other stakeholders.
