EU's sweet dreams about WB will never become reality, Vucic says (N1)

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic said in Tirana on Thursday there would be nothing of the European Union's "sweet dreams" about the Western Balkans countries this summer, the FoNet news agency reported. Addressing the Brdo – Brijuni summit in the Albanian capital, he predicted that Serbia and Montenegro would not open any new chapter in negotiations with the EU, the accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia would not start, and nothing would happen regarding Bosnia. According to him, Kosovo will not be granted visa-free regime, adding he supports the visa liberation for Kosovo citizens. "OK, we are stupid, but not that stupid, and you all know I'm right in saying that nothing will happen in June or July," Vucic said. Addressing the issue of Kosovo, he said that "some were yelling and saying you cannot solve the problem in that way." "Who are you to teach us lessons? It's between the Serbs and Albanians. That's not a question for Iceland, Slovenia, India, that's a question for us," Vucic added. He said that the solution was far away and that it would take many years for it. "Have we got a real EU support? No, everyone was looking for their interests," Vucic added. He said the solutions that had been acceptable and, in some cases, already implemented earlier were "not allowed," adding "we accepted everything from the EU and now we're stuck, and that will last, hopefully not forever." Vucic added his country would continue to work on reforms on its European road. Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj said he expected talks on recognition with Belgrade during the next meeting in Paris in July and added if Serbia weren't ready for a deal on the issue, Kosovo would wait.
