Srpska Lista will have opposition in elections in Kosovo (RFE, KoSSev)
Radio Free Europe writes that the Serbian community would have a possibility to choose who to vote for in the upcoming elections in Kosovo, given that no Serbian political party responded to a call of Srpska Lista for united participation.
Talks between political opponents of Srpska Lista are underway RFE continues, while on the other hand Srpska Lista called “for unity and that all united under a single hat, following the politics of Aleksandar Vucic take part in elections.”
“It won’t happen”, Slobodan Petrovic, leader of the Independent Liberal Party (SLS) said commenting on the call. Leader of the Progressive-Democratic Party (PDS) Nenad Rasic said the call of Srpska Lista is “a call for single-mindedness and not a call for unity”.
Leader of Serb European Movement from Kosovo, Rada Trajkovic noted the message “resembles Bolshevism rather than a normal and democratic message”.
Slobodan Petrovic also told RFE SLS is ready to participate independently in the forthcoming elections or in a coalition with some other Serbian party in Kosovo.
Nenad Rasic said his party would certainly participate in elections, however, it remains unknown if they would run independently or in a coalition with others.
Rada Trajkovic is also in favor of participating in elections in Kosovo, although there is a possibility that opposition in Serbia might be against it.
Ksenija Bozovic from Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) said this party has not decided yet whether to take part in elections or not, adding it remains open for talks with everybody.
“We are talking almost with everybody, and we still did not get any invitation from Srpska Lista. Nothing changed on the ground, neither election law nor anything related to the two previous electoral processes. Given that we had many unpleasantness, uneasiness, and even a murder that remains unresolved, we would very prudently make decision related to the participation in elections”, Bozovic underlined.
Meanwhile, Srpska Lista Chair Goran Rakic in a press conference held during the weekend in Mitrovica North said “there is no room for Serbian disunity” at the upcoming elections” adding “that we all together, united and coherent may go ahead and win over survival and remain of the Serbian people in these areas”.
