Jevtic: It is impossible to form a Kosovo government without talking to the Serbian List (RTS, B92)
Dalibor Jevtic says that the Serb people in Kosovo in the Sunday parliamentary elections made it very clear that they remain firm and unique with their country Serbia.
Vice President of the Serbian List Dalibor Jevtic stresses, in an interview with Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), that without a discussion with the Serbian List, it is impossible to form a new government in Pristina, as stipulated by the Constitution of Kosovo and the laws.
According to him, it is very important that the Serbian List won all 10 seats because it did not leave room for any of the Albanian leaders to trade with the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
He also commented the statement made by the leader of the Self-Determination movement, Albin Kurti, that in the Kosovo government would be a representative of the Serbs, but not a representative of the Serbian List. Jevtic said that Kurti spoke about what he would like. He added that one thing was what Albanians want, and the other what the laws state.
"The Constitution, Article 96, states that a representative of the Serbs in the Government of Kosovo will be elected by a majority of representatives of that community in the Kosovo Assembly. There is no debate here. What Kurti says he would take a Serb, I do not know which one, would be the same as we would say that we do not want Kurti as prime minister, but someone else - this is simply impossible,"Jevtic points out.
He believes that if Kurti really wants to be Prime Minister of Kosovo, he must consider the fact that the Serbian List has won. Talking about the results of the elections when speaking of Albanian parties, Jevtic said that dissatisfaction was evident and was expressed through the election process.
