Ivanovic will go from custody to the trials (RTS)

Analyst Dusan Janjic said that Oliver Ivanovic, will have to await the establishment of a special unit, which is assumed to be formed by the end of the year, but says that he would not be surprised if it would happen in the spring. Janjic said that formally there are two explanations of why Ivanovic will likely go directly from custody to the trial. "One reason is because of his safety, and the other is a threat to the future course of the investigation. I think that basically it will depend on the political judgment", Janjic said adding that he does not expect that Ivanovic will be released pending trial, although the Serbian government is ready to provide guarantees for his defence pending trial. Commenting on the signing of the "Brussels II," for which reportedly Germany insisted to be signed, Janjic said that the idea of Germany is to complete the talks with such framework agreement. When asked whether the chair for Pristina in the United Nations could be the subject of agreement, Janjic said that the subject was "on the table", although the Serbian side said that it was not part of the talks. "We were probably wrongly informed by our negotiators. I think that then PM Ivica Dacic stated that they managed to refuse it, and you cannot reject something if it was not mentioned. Hence, the topic ‘is on the table’," said Janjic. He explains that in that case, Serbia would be requested to terminate an active campaign against Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. "To be clear, what Kosovo can receive now and in 10 years certainly is not a full membership. Kosovo can receive the same status as the Palestine, meaning the status of observer," Janjic said. Janjic said that prior to the April agreement, in Brussels were reached seven or eight agreements. We are facing a moment when these agreements will be concluded.  "The talks at the level of Prime Ministers cannot last forever. At one point, the talks must be completed, in order to define the content of chapter 35. I guess that was the reason for speculation that Ashton wanted to finish it before November. Again I am not certain about it, but I am sure that Germany would insist on the format - two Prime Ministers and representatives of the European Union, "Janjic said.
