Pristina won't continue dialogue "until Haradinaj returns" (B92)

Kosovo Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri says that Belgrade-Pristina negotiations in Brussels could continue "only when Ramush Haradinaj returns to Kosovo."

The ethnic Albanian politician and a former KLA leader, wanted in Serbia on war crimes charges, is currently in France, unable to leave that country pending a decision on Serbia's extradition request.

Tahiri's statement reiterated a message sent last month, and a Kosovo assembly resolution on suspending the dialogue until Haradinaj has been released.

Tahiri said at the time that she "does not believe the dialogue' suspension would undermine relations between Pristina and the EU," while this time, she said the dialogue had contributed to the signing of the SAA.

"Kosovo has shown itself to be a partner who is building peace in the region. That is why Kosovo's European future is supported also by the EU members who have not recognized it," said she.

The dialogue has led to "significant results, and all agreements are in line with Kosovo's position," Tahiri said.
