Djuric: Community of Serb Municipalities will be formed (B92, Jedinstvo, Blic)

Marko Djuric says he has lost faith in Pristina's readiness to work on implementation of the Brussels agreements.

However, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija added that he is convinced the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) would be formed after all.

"I believe work on the Statute for forming the Community must start without delay. Belgrade is ready to immediately commence joint work on the Statute in Brussels. Also, we do not accept any usurpation or unilateral action in this regard as the Community should be formed by neither Pristina nor (Kosovo PM) Isa Mustafa, but by the Kosovo and Metohija Serbs, with assistance and support from Belgrade and Pristina," Djuric told the Jedinstvo weekly.

Serbia, on the other hand, he stressed, respects agreements that have been reached, and both international and domestic law, and remains true to that course.

According to Djuric, Pristina has created an atmosphere where the ZSO is represented "as something undesirable - although in truth it would solve many problems in Albanian-Serb relations."

Djuric also said that Albanian political leaders in Kosovo and Metohija stir up the anti-Serb sentiment "to cover up the fact they'd done nothing to build the economy over the past 16 years, despite the international community investing around EUR 60 billion in Kosovo since 1999."
