Trajkovic: I am proud if I contributed to failure of Vucic’s politics (Danas, Radio Kosovo 2)

Rada Trajkovic from Serb European Movement told Danas daily that the speech of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Main Board session, in which he said that his Kosovo politics has failed, is intended for the international community and SNS supporters.

In his speech, President Vucic noted that among others, Rada Trajkovic was in a group fighting against his Kosovo politics.

Trajkovic believes Vucic’s politics toward Kosovo was tolerated in unpermitted manner.

"Vucic has been told he can drag out Kosovo solution" (Tanjug, Blic, Vecernje Novosti, B92)

It seems that a solution to the Kosovo issue will not be found either in 2018 or in early 2019, "despite the wishes of the international community." Belgrade-based press is saying this in articles published on Tuesday.

Daily Blic said it learned from diplomatic sources that "pressure from western countries to solve the open issue between Serbia and Kosovo is slowly waning."

Rama: I do not know what happens behind closed doors (Tanjug, B92, TV Klan)

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said he has no detailed information about Belgrade-Pristina agreement.

He denied he had a role in easing communication between Serbian and Kosovo presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci.

“When I say “no” I am saying I have no detailed information that would put me in a position to have knowledge about what has happened behind the closed doors and that would enable me to comment on it,” Rama said.

“Certainly, I have spoken with President Thaci, but I know no details,” Rama further explained.

Dacic: It is good Thaci knows Serbia will not recognize Kosovo (Tanjug, KIM Radio)

“Serbia cannot accept unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and it is good that president of provisional Kosovo institutions Hashim Thaci knows that, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivica Dacic told Tanjug news agency.

“Serbia will not recognize Kosovo, and then continue talks. That would certainly not happen,” Dacic added, responding to the question if Serbia, as Thaci claims, would first recognize Kosovo and then talk about delineation.

Hahn: Vucic and Thaci aware of limitations in exchange of territories idea (DW, BETA)

EU Enlargement Negotiations Commissioner, Johannes Hahn said both presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci are aware of limitations in correction of borders idea, Serbian media reported.

In an interview to DW, Hahn said it is too early to say what the stance of the European Commission on exchange of territories would be and that negotiations should be left to Vucic and Thaci,

“They are fully aware of the limitations this idea brings, after it became public, not only when it comes to their citizens, but also the international community,” Hahn said.

Thaci prepares ground for agreement with Vucic (Danas)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci’s message that “West cannot convince Serbia to recognize Kosovo,” representatives of diplomatic cycles and some Belgrade opposition leaders interpret as a clear indicator “Thaci would be more than pleased even with an agreement that would not mean explicit recognition of Kosovo by Serbia, but would enable Pristina to get a seat in the UN,” Danas daily reports.

This change happened despite his earlier rhetoric the final agreement is not possible “without mutual recognitions between Kosovo and Serbia,” Danas daily noted.

Shpend Ahmeti: Neither Vucic nor Thaci are honest (Danas)

Neither Vucic nor Thaci informed us what they have discussed in Brussels, nor if they had other meetings. We in Pristina, received no information at all, and it seems also in Belgrade they do not know what Thaci and Vucic are talking about, Shpend Ahmeti, Pristina Mayor and leader of the Social-Democratic Party in Kosovo told Danas daily.

Thaci: Final deal to include mutual recognition (BETA, B92)

Hashim Thaci says a final agreement with Belgrade would include mutual recognition, and "Kosovo's Membership in EU, NATO, and the UN.

In an interview with Beta, the Kosovo president said that the outcome of a final and binding agreement on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia would be mutual recognition, Kosovo's membership in the EU, NATO and the UN and Serbia's progress on its EU path.

Speaking about a meeting with the U.S. president's envoy, Senator Ron Johnson, Thaci said Washington fully backed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

McAllister: Vucic and Thaci take normalization of relations to “next level” (RTS, Tanjug)

At the moment, it is impossible to predict content and date of reaching possible agreement between Belgrade and Pristina, Chairperson of the European Parliament Committee for Foreign Affairs and Rapporteur for Serbia, David McAllister said, adding that Vucic and Thaci are committed to take the normalization of relations “to the next level”.

He also underlined there are challenges along the way, however, there are positive signs to build mutual trust, and it would be good if the dialogue continues with the next round in Brussels, before the end of the month.

Thaci: I would come, but there are some prison sentences (BETA, B92)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci told BETA news agency he would love to visit Presevo valley, however, there are some obstacles to it, a prison sentence issued by the Serbian authorities.

I would, with best wishes, love to visit Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac. However, there are obstacles to it, prison sentences issued in absentia for me and my co-fighters, including Adem Jashari, Thaci said, adding “that unfortunately Serbia cannot free itself from the past.”
