Kosovo’s Justice Minister, Dhurata Hoxha, said that the issue of properties in the territory of Kosovo will not be part of the Brussels dialogue with Serbia and that the decision to transfer former Yugoslav assets to Kosovo relevant institutions is the same with those of other federal units of the former Yugoslav republic. “We have full independence and sovereignty on assets in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and we don’t need to discuss them with anyone. It is an issue that we as a state decide on our own,” Hoxha said.

The Brussels agreement on the judiciary was supposed to start on January 10, but this is still pending. The Parliamentary Commission on Legislation organized a public debate to inform the public about the reasons for non-implementation of this Agreement.

The Commission invited the Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri and Minister of Justice Dhurata Hoxha to inform MPs and the public about the reasons for the delay of the integration of the Serbian judiciary into Kosovo's system.

Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Dhurata Hoxha, said justice reform will be her priority for 2017. In a meeting with ambassadors accredited in Kosovo, Hoxha stressed the importance of implementing the European justice agenda. “A memorandum of understanding will be signed in the coming weeks with all relevant rule of law institutions which will be part of the functional review,” said Hoxha adding that the process will look into the applicable legislation and provide a platform for addressing challenges and possible shortcomings.

Kosovo’s Justice Minister, Dhurata Hoxha, said they have requested French authorities to unconditionally release the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Ramush Haradinaj, detained last week on an arrest warrant issued by Serbia.

The minister of Justice, Dhurata Hoxha is expected to dismiss the managerial staff of the Detention Center in Prizren.

Sources of Klan Kosova said that this is expected to happen soon. The decision will be based on the findings of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Justice who drafted a report on Astrit Dehari’s death at this detention center.
