Mustafa and Vucic will meet on 8-9 February (Gazeta Blic/Vecernje Novosti)

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia will resume with the meeting between Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, and Aleksandar Vucic, the Prime Minister of Serbia, in Brussels on 8-9 February. The establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is expected to be the main topic of the meeting. According to Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti, the two prime ministers will also discuss the properties of Serbs in Kosovo, creation of conditions for IDP returns and the judiciary.

Thaci meets EU High Representative, Mogherini (Gazeta Blic)

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, met in Brussels with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.  Mogherini said that she will work closely with Thaci and reiterated that the Pristina – Belgrade dialogue will resume in January 2015. Opposition boycotts Jahjaga’s address (Gazeta Blic)

Opposition parties – Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) – are boycotting the annual address of the Kosovo President, Atifete Jahjaga, to the Kosovo Assembly. Jahjaga is presenting her year’s work in her address. AAK MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, accused President Jahjaga for, as she said, ignoring the parliamentary majority. "Her unconstitutional actions enabled Hashim Thaci and his group to govern again. She is responsible for the bad things that have happened to the country. This is why the AAK left the session", said Kadaj-Bujupi.

Thaci begins his new role with trips to Strasbourg and Brussels (Gazeta Blic)

The Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, said in a Facebook post that he is set to travel tomorrow first to Strasbourg and then Brussels. Thaci said that he will meet in Strasbourg with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland, and discuss increase of cooperation between Kosovo and CoE. He will then go to Brussels where he is expected to meet EU diplomacy chief, Federica Mogherini, and EU Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.

Limaj: I was sent to prison by SHIK and two Frenchmen (Gazeta Blic)

The leader of Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Fatmir Limaj, said that Kosovo Intelligence Service known as SHIK in cooperation with two Frenchmen sent him to prison. During an interview for KTV show 'Rubikon', Limaj said that former head of SHIK, Kadri Veseli and the organization he headed were responsible for sending him to prison. "What happened at the Ministry of Transport was done by SHIK and certain people. Earlier when I made these statements nobody believed me.

Bajrush Morina, spokesperson for the Kosovo Government? (Gazeta Blic)

Kosovo publicist and director of Botapress newspaper, Bajrush Morina, will most likely be part of the Kosovo Prime Minister's cabinet, Gazeta Blic reports.

Citing sources close to Prime Minister Mustafa, the news website reports that  new Prime Minister has decided to immediately appoint the Spokesperson for the Kosovo Government.  The source said that "I do not know if Bajrush Morina knows this, but there is a big chance that he will be offered this post”.

PDK-LDK Government: Beginning or end of Kosovo’s sinking (Gazeta Blic)

Publicist Beqe Cufaj writes in an opinion piece that while some may find the coalition between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) unnatural, the fact of the matter is that PDK and LDK are the two largest parties and in the present circumstances, it was the only possibility to put Kosovo back on track.

Jablanovic: I gave and signed the oath (Gazeta Blic)

In an interview for Radio Dukagjini, Aleksandar Jablanovic, the leader of the Serbian List and newly-appointed Kosovo Minister for Communities and Returns, said that the future Community/Association of Serb-majority municipalities must have special competencies. Jablanovic said he gave and signed the oath as member of the Kosovo Parliament and that he resigned from his post as member of the Serbian Parliament. “I resigned [from the Serbian Parliament] several hours before entering the premises of the Kosovo Parliament.

Editor-in-chief of the Gazeta Blic news website, Adrian Collaku, writes that the end of the six-month institutional crisis in Kosovo produced winners and losers. The main losers, according to Collaku, are citizens of Kosovo not only because during the last six months, their living conditions deteriorated even further, but also because the governance remained unchanged. Although the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) will not formally lead the new government, it will have a say on all issues.
