Haziri: We are waiting for CEC to publish the candidates’ lists (Zeri)

Media speculated today publishing several lists with the names of the candidates for MPs from the LDK-AKR-Alternative pre-election coalition. However, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Lutfi Haziri, said these lists are not official. In an announcement for the media, Haziri said that only Central Election Commission can make the lists of the candidates public. “CEC is the only constitutional authority which publishes the lists of the candidates after the correction deadline,” Haziri said.

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) deputy leader, Lutfi Haziri, said in an interview for Rrokum TV that the reason behind the decision to set 1 September as the date when the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro will be voted has to do with the Kosovo Assembly presidency’s agenda. He ruled out the possibility of the move having been requested by his party, the LDK. “Now is the time for the entire political spectrum to behave with caution and maturity with regards to interests and processes that are of vital importance for the future of the country,” added Haziri.

Gjilan/Gnjilane mayor, Lutfi Haziri, hosted today Kosovo’s Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic and the Minister for Administration of Local Government, Ljubomir Maric, to discuss important matters for Gjilan/Gnjilane population. “We discussed today the plans and possibilities for the 2016 budget and for development on community interests in Gjilan/Gnjilane, villages such as Shillova, Cernica and Kmetoci as well as the urban part surrounding the ‘Saint Nikola” church, schools etc.

The municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane signed a cooperation agreement for financial support with  Association of Paraplegics and Paralyzed Children - Hendikos, Kosovo Association of the Blind and Kosovo Association of the Deaf , RTK reports. Mayor of Gjilan/Gnjilane, Lutfi Haziri said that this agreement is focused on the financial support for these associations, in order to improve the daily life of people with special needs. Haziri also said that this agreement will be reviewed in the future with the possibility to increase the funding for these associations.

Lutfi Haziri, member of the chairmanship of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Mayor of Gjilan, is one of the top candidates for the post of LDK leader, according to a high-ranking source within the LDK. The same source said that LDK leader and Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, will most probably run again for the post of LDK chief. “But if Mustafa withdraws from the race, Agim Veliu [senior LDK official] has great ambitions for the post,” the source added.

A senior member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), preferring to remain anonymous, told the news website that the majority of PDK members don't want Isa Mustafa, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), to be the new Prime Minister of Kosovo. The source also said that even if the PDK gives away the Prime Minister post it will insist that Mustafa should not get it. "If the LDK will not back down on the Prime Minister's post, then the PDK will insist that neither Hashim Thaci nor Isa Mustafa should get the post.

Haziri said he was confident that the Assembly will be formed next week. “There have been tremendous efforts this week and frequent meetings between the coalition partners to find a way to form the new institutions, first the Assembly and then the rest will be easier. I believe next week will be decisive,” Haziri said.
