Dacic: Vucic will be pressured in Berlin, meeting organized without knowledge of EU (TV Pink, Tanjug, B92)

President Aleksandar Vucic would face pressure in Berlin over Kosovo and Metohija, therefore the meetings he would have in Beijing with Chinese and Russian presidents are very important, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told TV Pink.

Dacic noted he does not expect pressure related to making some new framework of the content of the agreement with Pristina, but “there would certainly be the culmination of pressure on Serbia to continue the dialogue regardless of Pristina tariffs.”

Mogherini unveiled mural dedicated to Western Balkans people in Brussels (BETA, TV N1)

European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini unveiled a mural by Bosnian artist Rikardo Druskic which he dedicated to the peoples of the Western Balkans, BETA news agency reported.

The EU along with the Balkan Trafik Festival and the City of Brussels supported Druskic's work. It will become a part of the popular Brussels’ Street Art Parcours.

The mural, titled “It is only with the heart that one can see well,” aims to call on people throughout the region “to look at each other with open hearts and without prejudice.”

Although European Commissioner Johannes Hahn yesterday said that he hopes for the soon continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, analysts from Belgrade do not share his optimism, writes Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti.

“Stance of European Union: There is absolutely no change” (Tanjug, B92)

Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Sem Fabrizi said the stance of the European Union is clear and there is no change in the format of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Tanjug news agency reported.

Asked to comment on a statement of the European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia David McAllister on possible Russia and US involvement in the dialogue, Fabrizi said the stance is very clear, the EU is there to support the dialogue between the two sides and is doing so based on the mandate it received from the UN General Assembly.

Dacic: Mogherini’s statement does not mean change in format of negotiations (RTS, Tanjug)

The statement of EU High Representative Federica Mogherini that the UN Security Council would have to verify the Belgrade-Pristina agreement does not mean there would be a change in the format of the negotiations, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told RTS.

Dacic added there are no negotiations at all, and Pristina “may hang its platform on the wall as a newspaper or internal announcement.”  

Dacic also noted Serbia was always saying any agreement that might have been reached would need to be verified by the UN, as a world organization.

Dacic at meeting of EU foreign ministers in Bucharest (Serbian Government, B92)

First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will take part in an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers and candidate countries on Feb.1 in Bucharest. The meeting is organized by EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and the Romanian EU Presidency.

On the margins of the meeting, Dacic will also participate in an informal working lunch at the invitation of Mogherini and Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu.

"Serbia can move even faster on its path to EU" (Serbian Government, B92)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic reiterated on Tuesday in Brussels that the main foreign policy priority of Serbia is joining the EU. Brnabic said that "we can be even more efficient in the reforms that we conduct, primarily because of our citizens," the government announced.

At a joint press conference with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Brnabic recalled that 16 negotiating chapters are currently open, after the meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council between Serbia and the EU, while two are temporarily closed.

"Belgrade and Pristina are to blame, not Mogherini" (Tanjug, B92)

Aleksandar Vucic has rejected Ramush Haradinaj's claim that EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini is to blame for the current state of the dialogue.

The Serbian President, who was in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday when he was asked to comment on Haradinaj's statement that Mogerini is to blame for the collapse of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, responded that he disagreed, adding that only Belgrade and Pristina could be blamed for this.

EU foreign policy chief and WB PMs to meet in December? (Tanjug, B92)

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini plans to hold a meeting with prime ministers of W. Balkans in the second half of December. Tanjug said on Wednesday it learned this unofficially.

Mogherini plans to organize a meeting of prime ministers of the Western Balkans six before the holiday break in Brussels, just as last year and according to Tanjug it could be a working lunch on December 19.

Mogherini: Kosovo must abolish duties immediately (BETA)

EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said on Wednesday that the Kosovo government must immediately abolish the decisions on imposing duties on Serbian and Bosnian goods.

According to the Beta news agency, the EU foreign policy chief said in a statement on Nov. 21 that decision of the Kosovo government to raise the duty on Serbian and Bosnian goods to 100 percent made the situation worse, after Pristina imposed 10-percent duties last week.

The Kosovo government must immediately revoke those decisions, Mogherini said.
