Russian Ambassador to Serbia "rebuked" his US counterpart: Those are fabrications (B92, Vecernje Novosti, Tanjug)

Statements by US Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey "on the malign influence of Moscow in Europe" is Washington's fabrication, striving for global domination.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko told Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti that Washington "makes great efforts in waging its awkward ideological battle, putting to use its overt propagandistic machinery, no longer worrying about any arguments in support of its fabrications".

Atlantic Council official Damon Wilson told Voice of America that the delivery of Russian armored vehicles to Serbia is harmful and irresponsible.

A country that is on its way to the European Union should not accept weapons from Moscow, the Atlantic Council Executive Vice President said, adding that the supply of Russian arms to Serbia is an attempt to obstruct the normalization of the situation in the region.

As our strategic partner, Russia will continue to provide support to Serbia, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic said. He stated that we have Russia's army support for the challenges in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, B92 reports.

Mojsilovic who paid the first official visit to his counterparts in Moscow said for Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti daily that they had particularly analyzed the current circumstances in Kosovo and Metohija, adding that Pristina's unilateral steps seriously deteriorate security in the whole region.

“I would try to win over “shoulder by shoulder” with Serbia to return the international law to the region, once and for all, primarily when it comes to the Kosovo issue,” Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharachenko told Tanjug news agency.

He added Russia would support “a compromise and creative” solution, the one that Belgrade and Pristina must agree upon and which Russia could defend at the UN Security Council.

Defense Ministry: Serbian military got most donations from Russia (N1, B92)

Regional broadcaster N1 reports that the Defense Ministry said that the Serbian military gets its biggest donations from Russia and added the Ministry Informer did not publish the correct figures because it did not include donations which are underway. Thus, the Ministry denied Serbian media reporting that US was the biggest donator to the Serbian Army.

Kosovo’s deputy Defense Minister Burim Ramadani said on Tuesday that the arming of Serbia with Russian weapons is a threat to the Balkan region, Pristina press reported. Belgrade based daily Blic reports that US is the biggest donator for the Serbian Army.

Ramadani is quoted as saying that this is Serbia’s and Russia’s revenge against NATO member states. Serbia has turned into a mini-Russia and this causes concern across the region, reports regional broadcaster N1.

NATO says it respects Serbia’s right to choose partners (Beta, N1)

NATO fully respects the sovereign right of all states, including Serbia, to choose their own political and security arrangements, the Alliance said on Monday in a reply to Radio Free Europe on the Russian donation of armored vehicles to the Serbian armed forces.

The NATO statement said that RFE should ask official Bucharest about the decision to block the transport of those vehicles via the Danube through Romania.

Radio Free Europe on the 'Russian connection' in Kosovo recognition withdrawal (RFE, B92)

So far, 13 states had decided to revoke recognition of Kosovo independence claims Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, RFE reports.

Those are the following countries: São Tomé and Príncipe, Surinam, Guinea-Bissau, Burundi, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, Lesotho, Commonwealth Dominica, Grenada, Union of Comoros, the Solomon Islands, Madagascar and Palau for which the Ministry submitted to the Radio Free Europe (RFE) copies of diplomatic notes in which they inform the Ministry on their decision.
