Defense Ministry: Serbian military got most donations from Russia (N1, B92)

Regional broadcaster N1 reports that the Defense Ministry said that the Serbian military gets its biggest donations from Russia and added the Ministry Informer did not publish the correct figures because it did not include donations which are underway. Thus, the Ministry denied Serbian media reporting that US was the biggest donator to the Serbian Army.

''Russian weapons for Serbia a threat to region'', Kosovo official says (N1, FoNet, B92, Blic)

Kosovo’s deputy Defense Minister Burim Ramadani said on Tuesday that the arming of Serbia with Russian weapons is a threat to the Balkan region, Pristina press reported. Belgrade based daily Blic reports that US is the biggest donator for the Serbian Army.

Ramadani is quoted as saying that this is Serbia’s and Russia’s revenge against NATO member states. Serbia has turned into a mini-Russia and this causes concern across the region, reports regional broadcaster N1.

Army of Serbia Chief of Staff: KFOR the only legitimate force in Kosovo (Serbian media)

Army of Serbia Chief of Staff, general Milan Mojsilovic told KFOR Commander Lorenzo D'Addario that KFOR is the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo, reported Serbian media.

KFOR is the most responsible for the safety of the people in the entire territory of Kosovo, especially of the non-Albanian population in the north, General Mojsilovic told General D'Addario.

Union: Serbia’s army won’t go against its people, Def Min to be held responsible (Beta, N1)

The Union of Serbia’s army said late on Tuesday that because it was not satisfied with the work of Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, the military would not violently change the regime, but neither would it ever go against its people, the Beta news agency reported.

The Union’s statement also called on the respective institutions and President Aleksandar Vucic to immediately prevent Vulin’s “subversive, criminal, fascist and anti-constitutional actions.”

Vulin on military combat readiness (BETA, RTS)

Serbian Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin said the military combat readiness in the south of Serbia would be cancelled when assessment that “obstacles are lowered” is made, BETA news agency reports today.

Vulin also added, decision on it would be made following his talks with Serbian Army Chief-of-Staff General Milan Mojsilovic and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Security situation in Kosovo complex (TV N1, BETA)

Serbian Army Chief-of-Staff, Major General Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander, Major General Salvatore Cuici during the meeting on Thursday, assessed the security situation in Kosovo as complex, BETA news agency reported.

General Dikovic said the Army of Serbia recognized the international forces in Kosovo as an essential factor for stability, the guarantor of the Serb people safety and the protector of their national, cultural and historical heritage.

Kosovo media refute their own reports about Serbian troops (BETA, Tanjug, B92)

Several hours after publishing them, Pristina-based media denied their own stories about deployment of Serbian troops to the boundary with Kosovo, Serbian media write today.

Serbia deployed "armed troops to the border with Kosovo," media in Pristina reported earlier, according to the Beta news agency.

"This is the first time since 2008 and the declaration of independence that Serbia has sent soldiers and Gendarmes so close to the border with Kosovo," the report continued.

Djuric: Joining foreign army is offense punishable by law (Radio kontakt plus, TV Pink)

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric urged Serbs in Kosovo not to join the “illegal army of Kosovo” and reminded that “under the Serbian Criminal Code, entering into service of illegal, foreign armed formations is unlawful and punishable with up to ten years in prison,” Radio kontakt plus reported.

He stressed that the formation of an illegal army in Kosovo is contrary to the Resolution 1244, the Kumanovo Agreement and against the goal of the Serbian state – which is a long-term stability.

Vulin: Stopping of “Great Albania” to start in Kosovo (BETA, RTS, B92)

Serbian Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin said in Belgrade that the process of stopping the “Great Albania” must start in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian media reported.

Vulin made these remarks in a roundtable, held within the framework of internal dialogue on Kosovo, adding Serbia must not allow the creation of “Great Albania” on its borders and to let others define its borders.
