Serbia is well on its way towards fulfilling the EU membership criteria. Yes, more reforms are necessary, but as long as Serbia moves forward, steadily and consistently, we ought to acknowledge and support every step towards our united European future.

European Commission Spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic, informed that the Presidents of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will meet tomorrow in Brussels. She said that the two leaders will be exchanging opinions on the resumption of the dialogue for normalization of the relations in function of the July agreement, for the start of a new phase of the dialogue.

Presidents of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vučić and Hashim Thaqi will meet in Brussels on Thursday at the EU headquarters in Brussels under the auspices of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security.

President of the Forum for Ethnic Relations, Dušan Janjić estimates for Danas that this will be "one of the preparatory meetings for a new phase of Brussels Dialogue, which will, possibly, be maintained in the future at a monthly level."

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy will be meeting the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and that of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, by the end of this week. “This week, I will meet again with President Vucic and President Thaci in order to move forward with the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina,” Mogherini said while addressing the EU ambassadors in Brussels. The meeting is expected to be held on 31 August.

The failure to create new institutions in Kosovo two months after the holding of parliamentary elections, has mined the process of dialogue for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

While the Serb leadership has launched several proposals for the solution of pending issues between the two countries, Kosovo’s politicians have not issued any declarations in regards to this.

Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic has suggested for the solution of the Serb-Albanian conflict to come through a historical compromise.

Self-determination movement candidate for the Kosovo Prime Minsiter, Albin Kurti said he is not against the dialogue, but thinks this dialogue should be held with Serbs from Kosovo, while for the Association of the Serb Communities, he said it is imagined as a new Republic of Srpska, Serbian media reported.

Kurti said that during the last six-years of dialogue there was too much investment and too little benefits.

According to him, “the time has come to think why it went that way. We need to talk with the EU about negotiations with Belgrade.”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said early today that as far as dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is concerned, "nothing is finished."

"I cannot talk about something that's over, but I can talk about something important for the future of Serbia. If we can do it, and I know that there are small prospects, I know Albanians, I know Serbs, I know why and why the chances are small," he told RTS and added:

"If we do not try to do something for the future of Serbia, in a different and better way, we should not do this job."

German Ambassador in Kosovo, Angelika Viets, said a dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is one of the political priorities in Kosovo, but she cannot see how it would be continued, Serbian media reported late yesterday.

„On one side you have the Prime Minster Vucic, who got very empowered at the last election and has a strong party behind him, while the authorities here are divided into three different groups and there is no national consensus about any topic. In such situation, continuation of a dialogue is hardly possible,” Viets said.
