"We won't be seeing him here again" (Sputnik, B92)

Former US official who caused a storm with his statements, Brian Hoyt Yee, is no longer listed as an employee of the US State Department, Sputnik is reporting.

The website also said that Yee told Greek media no decision had been made to appoint him as US ambassador in one of the Balkan countries - something Serbian media previously often speculated about.

WASHINGTON – As Hoyt Brian Yee, the deputy assistant secretary of State stated yesterday that Serbia “cannot sit on two chairs at the same time,” referring to Serbia’s relations with Russia and the EU, the statement provoked many reaction.

Daniel Serwer, the director of the Conflict Management Program at the Johns Hopkins School of International Studies in Washington DC and former diplomat stated in his Op-ed that he agrees with the Yee’s claim, although he is more interested in the other question.

President Thaçi and Deputy Assistant Secretary Yee discussed about the bilateral relations, the role of the USA in the region, Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic perspective, the dialogue with Serbia and other issues of common interest.

On this occasion, President Thaçi has said that the continuation of the US support for Kosovo and the region remains the key to stable peace and stability.
