Gjilan/Gnjilane  municipality supports people with special needs (RTKLive)

The municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane signed a cooperation agreement for financial support with  Association of Paraplegics and Paralyzed Children - Hendikos, Kosovo Association of the Blind and Kosovo Association of the Deaf , RTK reports. Mayor of Gjilan/Gnjilane, Lutfi Haziri said that this agreement is focused on the financial support for these associations, in order to improve the daily life of people with special needs. Haziri also said that this agreement will be reviewed in the future with the possibility to increase the funding for these associations.

Kosovo Serb arrested for smuggling of migrants (RTKLive)

One individual was arrested yesterday by Kosovo Police (KP) in the northern border crossing point, Bernjak. RTK reports that the individual, of Serbian nationality from Kosovo, is suspected of smuggling of migrants.

RTK writes that according to sources within KP,  the suspect had in his car two Albanian men who were allegedly to be smuggled towards European countries. The suspect is taken into custody under the prosecutor’s order.

Ferguson: KFOR with excellent results in 2014 (RTKLive)

The United States Navy Admiral Mark E. Ferguson III, today visited KFOR Headquarters in Pristina, and said that KFOR achieved excellent results over the past year, thanks to the professionalism and dedication of KFOR soldiers. RTKLive writes that Admiral Ferguson met with Quint ambassadors and with head of United Nations Interim Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) and they highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation to increase stability and security in the region.

UAE 21 million euros investment in pediatrics surgery (RTKLive)

United Arab Emirates (UAE) will invest 21 million euros in building the facility to Pediatrics Surgery Clinic in Pristina, RTKLive reports.  This facility will enable all children's medical services within one place and will be called the Children's University Hospital. This project was supported by the Minister of Health,  Imri Rrahmani during the visit of UAE delegation in Kosovo.

Bosch to the new government: stay away from the justice system (RTK Live)

The Dutch Ambassador in Kosovo, Robert Bosch has requested from the new government to stay away from the justice system in Kosovo, RTK Live reports. According to the news portal, Bosch said that the number one priority for the next government must be the rule of law and the fight against corruption. Bosch also stressed that no one can deny that the PDK has won the majority of votes and that they should be in the government.

Ahmeti: Vetevendosje did not announce protests (RTKlive)

Mayor of Pristina Municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, says that Vetevendosje did not announce protests, but according to him, this deadlock demands civic reaction. Furthermore he said that they requested also form LAN to be supports, but Vetevendosje will not organize protests alone. Ahmeti said that he is optimistic in the establishment of institutions while parliamentary majority exists. He said that they will not accept any agreement with Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) if they call for an agreement.

Kosovo government condemns graffiti on Serb religious buildings (RTKlive)

Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has condemned graffiti on and the stoning of a few Serb houses. He said that this behavior goes against the tradition and culture of Albanians and emphasized that Kosovo is a place for all. Thaci, on behalf of the Kosovo government, condemned the vandalism acts and graffiti on objects of worship and the cultural heritage of the Kosovo Serb community, as well as attacks on the property of this community, which occurred over the last days. He said that the Brussels agreement showed that Kosovo and Serbia could build a good neighborhood together.

Jahjaga: Leaders must put aside party interests (RTK)

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Kosovo, Mr. Farid Zarif and his associates, with whom she discussed about the current developments in Kosovo on the verge of holding the next meeting of the quarterly evaluation of the situation in Kosovo in the UN Security Council, appointed on 13 November.
