The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has launched an information campaign against domestic violence. The campaign titled "Real men never beat their wives" includes TV ads and posters in Albanian and Serbian language, and features two combative sports professionals: Armend Xhoxhaj - boxer and Marko Bozovic – kick boxer. This campaign will last four weeks and it aims to help prevent domestic violence. It also encourages the public and the victims to report such cases.

Although "beyond any doubt" was determined that the war crime in village Opteruša was committed by a group, the Supreme Court presided by EULEX Judge recently convicted two persons - Ejup Kabashi (designated as the leader of the attack) and Sokol Bitici on two years in prison.

Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Lamberto Zannier told Tanjug on Wednesday that he expects Serbia to be a constructive factor in tackling the Ukrainian crisis during its OSCE chairmanship.

Serbia is a fair mediator and, as such, it will have broad support from OSCE members, Zannier said during a visit to Brussels.

He said that he has already discussed Serbia's mandate, which starts after the New Year, with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic during a recent visit to Belgrade.

The leaders and members of the Islamic, Serbian Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical and Jewish communities reiterated the appeal to be allowed to register as legal entities and requested the return of property, as well as regulating of their finances.

The second annual conference, "Inter-religious dialogue", organized by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo was held in order to promote religious and inter-ethnic tolerance and assistance to the religious communities to formulate the common positions.

Leaders of Muslim, Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Jewish religions came together in Kosovo today to demonstrate a spirit of religious tolerance and coexistence. They also called on political leaders to take their example in finding common grounds and not fear compromises. In the second annual conference of interreligious dialogue organised by OSCE, religious leaders expressed their concern over the lack of law on religious communities.

VIENNA -- OSCE Media Freedom Representative Dunja Mijatović has called on authorities in Albania, Bosnia and Serbia to investigate all hacker attacks on media websites.

The attacks "represent a clear danger to media freedom," a statement said on Tuesday.

“We have seen malicious denial of service attacks recently that obstruct the lawful activity of journalists. They must be investigated by law enforcement agencies of all countries,” Mijatović said.

BELGRADE - Serbia is a suitable country for OSCE chairmanship at a time when the search for a solution to the problem in Ukraine is underway, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said in an interview for the Russian national television and expressed the wish for the solution to be found soon.

Ukraine is a friend to Serbia and it has not recognised the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, Nikolic said in an interview broadcast by the Saturday news show on the Russia-24 channel.

 Serbia's OSCE chairmanship next year will be "a great opportunity to take on a role and mediate in negotiations in order to smooth EU-Russia relations."

 "Serbia must use the opportunity so that an easy solution is found, so that NATO would not have to become involved in it," the Belgrade-based daily Danas is quoting Dušan Siđanski, a special adviser to the president of the European Commission, who was in Serbia for the Belgrade Security Forum.

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric said during talks he had with representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) on Wednesday that the Serbian government appreciates the contribution the OSCE Mission in KiM was making to help normalize relations and improve the conditions of life in the province.
