Kosovo and Albania will intensify cooperation in the field of agriculture, seeing it as one of the main potentials for economic development, RTKLive reports. Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Memli Krasniqi, met on Friday with Albania Ambassador to Kosovo, Qemajl Minxhozi and discussed about investments to be made in Kosovo in the field of agriculture. "Agriculture is one of the key sectors for development of the country and one of the main priorities of the government,” said Krasniqi.

Former Kosovo Assembly speaker and co-founder of Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Jakup Krasniqi, reacted to the statement of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo chief, Marko Djuric, who said that Albin Kurti cannot lead the Pristina delegation in dialogue with Belgrade.

Following media reports about the arrest of Imam Shefqet Krasniqi this morning, a spokesman for the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK), Ahmet Sadriu, said BIK supports the work of state institutions. Sadiku said BIK received no official information about Krasniqi’s arrest, but was informed about the developments from his family. “According to our information, he is being interviewed by the Special Prosecution. The Islamic Community of Kosovo is concerned about this,” Sadriu added.

The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has confirmed that Shefqet Krasniqi, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Pristina, is being interviewed by Kosovo Police. “The imam’s house was raided by Kosovo Police. For the time being, Krasniqi is being interviewed and there is no decision to detain him. We don’t know this will develop, it depends on the interview,” a statement issued by the Special Prosecution noted.

Jakup Krasniqi, chairman of the National Council of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and former Assembly Speaker, writes in an opinion piece that everyone in Kosovo, without any exception, should be careful not to have any kind of cooperation with extremists that case a dark shadow on the nation and its future. Krasniqi recalls that in visits to Arab countries, he received suggestions that “you should watch out for extremist groups and countries that support such groups”.

Acting Assembly Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi, explained who has the right to take on the post of Assembly Speaker and Prime Minister. In a Facebook post, Krasniqi said that both posts belong to the bloc that has the majority to govern Kosovo.

He said democracy implies governance by the majority and in the case of Kosovo, a parliamentary majority. This requires at least 61 votes in the Assembly and whoever manages to secure this number will be able to elect the Assembly Speaker and Prime Minister.

It is not the first time that instead of interpreting the Constitution, the Constitutional Court brings more confusion and rewrites what is not said in the Constitution of Kosovo, wrote Kosovo’s Assembly Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi.

He says that the confusion is caused by majority of the Constitutional Court members, while only one of them, Robert Karollain, gave the right interpretation of respective articles.

The Chairman of the National Council of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Jakup Krasniqi, has responded to Hashim Thaci’s interview, in which he said he would be the next Prime Minister of Kosovo. Krasniqi, through a telephone conversation with Zeri, said that Thaci does not have necessary numbers to form a government, and that no one wants to govern with him.

Jakup Krasniqi, chairman of the national council of the Initiative for Kosovo (Nisma), is against a coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Krasniqi told Politiko.net in an interview that he does not expect Nisma to enter a coalition with the PDK, but that he will wait for his party to make the final decision. “I don’t believe Nisma will consider a coalition with the PDK. We won’t enter that bargaining. I am saying no, but then again our party mechanisms will have to decide on the matter.
