President Thaçi congratulates his counterpart Donald Trump (Lajmi.net)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, congratulated the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, for the victory in the presidential elections.

President Thaçi has said that the permanent friendship between Kosovo and the USA  is the basis on which the deepening of the bilateral cooperation will continue.

On behalf of the people and institutions of Kosovo, President Thaçi has also wished the elected US President a successful mandate in the implementation of the priorities of the American people.

Office of the PM: Law on Trepca cannot be contested by any judge (Lajmi.net)

Besnik Berisha adviser to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, stated that the Law on Trepca cannot be contested by the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court.

 In an announcement for the Radio Free Europe, Berisha said that the only competent institution to interpret eligibility of a law or of a bylaw is the Constitutional Court.

Djuric in Trepca with permission of Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry (Lajmi)

The Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government, Marko Djuric, will visit today Leposavic with the permission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo.

He will be visiting the flotation of Trepca combine in Leposavic.

 Bashmir Xhemaj, adviser to Minister Enver Hoxhaj, announced the news about the visit.

Vučić: Nehat Thaçi was not arrested for political reasons (Lajmi.net)

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić spoke about the arrest of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi. He  said that Thaci went to Serbia illegally and that “all we know about him is that he was arrested based on a warrant issued in 1997.Do you believe that someone arrested him for political reasons? No one did this. There was an arrest warrant," said the Serbian Prime Minister.

Rama to Vučić: Trepca belongs to Kosovo and its citizens (Lajmi.net)

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, said during his speech at the Security Forum in Belgrade that Kosovo is the point where he does not agree at all with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. He told the Serbian Prime Minister that it would have been better for everyone if Serbia recognized Kosovo.

He added however that the political leaders in Pristina and Belgrade should be commended for the ongoing dialogue.

Government spokesperson: Lack of voting demarcation, impedes peace in the region (Lajmi.net)

Faton Abdullahu, spokesperson of the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, considers that lack of voting the demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Montenegro impedes strengthening of the peace in the region. “It also means a new, unexpected obstacle on increase of the Euro Atlantic security in the region. By refusing to vote the demarcation, the problem would unavoidably pass where it is not, and where it does not suit us to be – at the inter-state dimension and as consequence, problem of the region as well.

Delawie: We are strengthening Kosovo on the war against corruption (Lajmi.net)

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, and the Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo Greg Delawie, signed today amendment of the bilateral agreement on the Development Objective Agreement Grant (DOAG) .

The agreement includes determination of the U.S. government to help Kosovo institutions attain reforms which would push Kosovo’s development forward.

Arifi: Thaçi and Mustafa are committing collective deceit with visas (Lajmi)

Head of the Pristina branch of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Avni Arifi, assessed that the debate with the people of Kosovo that they would move freely without visas, is a debate to keep alive government’s collective deceit. He called Mustafa and Thaçi deceivers, saying that both of them deceived Kosovo with visa liberalisation. “I am sorry to use these words but Thaçi has deceived Kosovo since 2010 when he used to say that he has received guarantees from the most senior levels at the EU that the EU will not be late.
