Selimi is imagining new recognitions (Politika)

During the sharp conflict with the opposition, Pristina authorities are trying in all possible ways to replace political misunderstandings with the announcement that at the end of the EU road, Belgrade will have to recognize independence of its province. That’s how Kosovo deputy FM Petrit Selimi tried to make political manoeuvre and stated for RTK2 that process of Kosovo recognition is one-way street, claiming that Serbia will be conditioned to recognize Kosovo independence.

UNMIK will retrieve competencies given to EULEX (Dailies)

The dailies report that according to Gazeta Blic portal, the UN mission in Kosovo will have higher competences from June this year, which was qualified by Pristina-based media as the biggest defeat of Kosovo in its attempts to gain more competencies as an independent state. As stated by Gazeta Blic portal, the plan of international community allegedly was adopted by several Committees, while the Budget Committee should adopt it in three to four months.

Do the State Department and US Ambassador in Belgrade Michael Kirby advocate the position that as long as Kosovo is not allowed to join the UN, Serbia should not be able to join the EU? The answer to this question is complicated, because despite having made this statement a day before Catholic Christmas, the US Ambassador now claims that no one in Washington is of that opinion.  How is Belgrade meant to interpret US policy?

Licence for Telekom in exchange for area code (Politika)

Politika writes in today's edition that Pristina little has implemented from the Brussels Agreement. One of the unfulfilled promises is a licence for Telekom for fixed and mobile telephony on the territory of Kosovo.

This is the reason why Belgrade has not given permission to Austria to apply in the name of Kosovo, for the area code (303), which was part of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.

Belgrade demands full implementation of the Brussels agreements (KIM radio, TV Most, Politika, B92)

Marko Djuric says that Belgrade is demanding the full implementation of the Brussels agreements reached in talks with Pristina.

"We expect and demand full implementation of the Brussels agreements, we demand from the international community the full implementation of these agreements. Nobody asked us when that constitution (of Kosovo) was passed. We ask that the agreements are fully respected," Marko Djuric told RTS.

Belgrade will not negotiate A/CSM again (Politika)

The media in Pristina are giving contradictory evaluations concerning the position of the Constitutional Court and in regards to the Association / Community of Serb Municipalities (A/CSM). Minister for Communities and Returns in Kosovo government Dalibor Jevtic has said that in diplomatic circles in Pristina could be heard opposed speculations. “However, from recently could be also heard that Constitutional Court will decide that one part of the Agreement on A/CSM is in accordance with the Constitution, while the other part is not and requires changes.

Berlin condemns the attack on the largest Serb village in Metohija (Politika)

At the request of Politika to respond to Tuesday's attack in Gorazdevac, the German Foreign Ministry condemned the incident.

''Kosovo police has already launched an investigation. We call on the police authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,'' said the German MFA.

As stated in the headquarters of German diplomacy, all ethnic communities must feel safe and secure throughout Kosovo.
