Interpol issues warrant for arrest of MP Momir Stojanovic (Tanjug, RTS)

BELGRADE - Interpol has issued a red international warrant for the arrest of Momir Stojanovic, aged 57, MP of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and chair of the Serbian parliament Security Service Control Committee.

On its website, Interpol posted a warrant for Stojanovic's arrest because of crimes committed against civilian (Albanian) population in the territory of Djakovica/Gjakova, south-west Kosovo.

WASHINGTON -- The United States thinks a number of European countries, Serbia among them, are "in the line of fire" when it comes to relations between Washington and Moscow.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was appearing before a U.S. Senate subcommittee when he was asked about "the growing influence of Russia in Europe."

In this context, besides Serbia, Kerry also mentioned "Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, and others, Georgia, Moldova, Pridnestrovie," RIA Novosti reported.

Ban, Dacic agree on need for peaceful solution in Ukraine (Tanjug, RTS,IRS)

BELGRADE - Cooperation between the OSCE and the UN, situation in Ukraine and the OSCE's role in solving that crisis were the topics of a meeting between OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

The meeting, also attended by OSCE Secretary General Lambero Zannier, was held ahead of a briefing Dacic is scheduled to hold before the UN Security Council concerning cooperation between the UN and the OSCE, the Serbian Foreign Ministry has stated.

Witness does not hold Ivanovic responsible for 1999 crime (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - A Kosovo Albanian prosecution witness did not blame leader of the Citizens' Initiative 'Freedom, Democracy, Justice' (SDP) Oliver Ivanovic for a murder of four Albanians in April 1999 during a court hearing in a case against Ivanovic and four other Serbs on Monday.

During the hearing, the witness, Mentor Mehana, said nothing to point to Ivanovic as being responsible for the crime, Ljubomir Pantovic, one of the defense lawyers, told reporters.

"Genocide lawsuit" plans are "insult to victims" (B92, Tanjug)

Parliamentary Committee on Kosovo and Metohija chairman Milovan Drecun says Hashim Thaci's announcement of a "genocide lawsuit" was "an insult to the victims."

Drecun, an MP from the ruling SNS party, said on Monday he believes that Kosovo cannot move forward unless it sets up a special war crimes court in the next few months.

Arrest of Gegovic - further intimidation of Gjakova/Djakovica citizens (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - The Association of Djakovica Citizens, which brings together the expelled and displaced Serbs from that town in southwestern Kosovo, requested on Saturday the release of Miras Gegovic, who was arrested in Podgorica on suspicion that he had committed a war crime against civilians.

The Association condemned Gegovic's arrest in the strongest terms, demanding that Serbia's state institutions offer him full legal protection.

The mission of KFOR remains committed to the mission of providing security and freedom of movement for all citizens of Kosovo, NATO's supreme commander for Europe, US General Philip Breedlove said.

The first man of NATO in Europe, US General Philip Breedlove said during a visit to Kosovo that he is extremely pleased with the work and efforts of KFOR soldiers, adding that KFOR daily progresses towards a more flexible and smaller mission in Kosovo, RTK2 reported.

Mihajlovic: Highway and railroad to be constructed with Albanians (Tanjug)

The technical working group of Serbia and Albania today will review two projects of regional importance – construction of a railroad and a highway, which are due to be presented by the prime ministers during May in the European Commission, said the Deputy Prime Minister in the Serbian Government and Minister for Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic. Two projects amount to EUR 2 billion.
