Reconstruction work in Kroi i Vitakut begins and stops (Kosovapress/RTK)

Reconstruction of houses owned my Albanians in the Mitrovica’s northern neighbourhood of Kroi i Vitakut commenced this morning only to stop hours later. The neighbourhood representative Nazmi Ismajli said the residents agreed to temporarily suspend works until Tuesday when talks underway in Brussels end.

Haradinaj: Northern Kosovo is untouchable (B92, Beta)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj said that northern Kosovo is untouchable as any other part of the territory that has unilaterally declared independence.

After three days spent in Slovenia where he was detained on the basis of a warrant issued by the former state of Serbia and Montenegro, Haradinaj is back to his political activities. “Northern Kosovo is untouchable as any other part of our state. Our institutions should have the responsibility for managing the northern Kosovo,” said Haradinaj.

EU blocks Serbian projects (Vesti)

Around EUR 7 million collected from the customs at crossings in northern Kosovo, Brnjak and Jarinje, forwarded to the special fund for development of four northern municipalities, still can’t be used.

Kosovo Finance Minister Abdulah Hoti says that EU Office is still reviewing projects that will be realized through the collected funds in northern Kosovo, and that this is the only reason why the money is still not used.

Djuric condemns attack on KoSSev info portal (Tanjug)

 Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric fiercely condemned on Thursday the attack on the premises of the KoSSev information portal in North Mitrovica.

Djuric said that the attack once more proves that there are certain individuals in KiM who prefer an atmosphere of lynch to rule of law and freedom of expression.

€ 3 million allocated for return projects in northern Kosovo (Klan Kosova)

The Ministry for Communities and Returns has allocated €3 million for return projects in the four municipalities in northern Kosovo. Communities and Returns Minister Dalibor Jevtic said that his ministry has allocated half of its budget for projects in the north and he hopes that implementation of these projects would be done in line with the set deadlines, so that the funds don’t end up as a budget surplus. Jevtic said that only 700 Serb IDPs would return to Kosovo during 2015.

Around 9.000 unemployed in North Mitrovica (Tanjug)

Around 9,000 persons are unemployed in North Mitrovica, whereas most needed ones are those who finished pharmacists and radiologists.

Most of the 8.646 unemployed are with the secondary education, 56 per cent of them. The head of the Department for Employment and Carrier Planning Mihajlo Petković stated that the most needed profile is of those who finished pharmaceutics, who are most look for by employers, and  radiologists.

Agreement on distribution of Serbian medicines presented in North Mitrovica (RTK2)

Agreement on distribution of medicines produced in Serbia proper was presented today in North Mitrovica.

“This is important for all citizens of Kosovo, pharmacies, entrepreneurs, producers of medicines and wholesale medicines providers in Serbia proper in the light of recently signaled measures of support for investments and business in Kosovo and Metohija,” said Belgrade’s Liaison Officer with Pristina and Deputy Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Dejan Pavicevic.
