Media speculated today publishing several lists with the names of the candidates for MPs from the LDK-AKR-Alternative pre-election coalition. However, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Lutfi Haziri, said these lists are not official. In an announcement for the media, Haziri said that only Central Election Commission can make the lists of the candidates public. “CEC is the only constitutional authority which publishes the lists of the candidates after the correction deadline,” Haziri said.

Two memorandums of cooperation will be signed today at the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Initially, CEC will be signing a memorandum of cooperation with the EU Office in Kosovo, for monitoring of the early parliamentary elections. Another memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the government of Kosovo and the EU Office in Kosovo. These memorandums will be signed by the head of CEC, Valdete Daka, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj and the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo passed a decision on the registration of a new party called the Party of Kosovo Serbs (PKS), headed by Aleksandar Jablanović.

The government of Kosovo allocated today €4.9 million for early elections. Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin Kuçi said that these means are required to organize 11 June elections.

“The Office of the Prime Minster has received a request from the Central Election Commission to allocate €4 million and 944 thousand and 900, required to organize 11 June elections. I believe that these means are necessary and I call on you to approve them,” Kuci said.

Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the request of Vetevendosje movement to certify as a political party.

The decree issued by CEC, notes that this party has fulfilled all the conditions to be certified as political party. Vetevendosje movement had applied to become a political party months ago. After the decision of the CEC, this political party is obliged to hold internal elections within a six month period from the registration date.

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, is expected to decree 11 June as the date for the national elections of Kosovo. Lajmi.net reports based on its sources that Thaci is expected to issue the decree today, being that all political parties, excluding Vetevendosje agreed for 11 June to be the date of the new elections.

After the decree, officials of the Central Election Commission are expected to meet and decide on the dates of election campaign and deadlines for submission of the lists by the political parties.

 The problems among the members of the Serbian List, do not stop. Members of this party are divided in two when the leader of the party is concerned. Aleksandar Jablanovic has already returned at the position of the leader of the Serbian List, while this is being objected by some of the members of this list and the acting leader of the party, Slavko Simic. The latter has addressed a letter to the chief executive of the Central Election Commission Secretariat, Enis Halimi. “Dear Mr.

Aleksandar Jablanović and Slavko Simić five days ago have filed a request for the registration of the same citizens' initiative as a political party. Both of them claim that they are entitled to it while waiting the CEC to officially comment on the issue.

Both Simić and Jablanović expect a positive outcome of a decision of the CEC, the decision should be made within 30 days.

Serbian List states that Aleksandar Jablanović arbitrarily and without the support of Serbian MPs appointed himself as President of the Serbian list. He deceived and manipulated the Office for the registration of political parties - said the Serbian List.

The Central Election Commission will declare soon on everything. The CEC is considering the documentation that was received without a stamp by the Office for the registration of political parties, indicated the Serbian List.

Some political analysts in Pristina are arguing that early parliamentary elections, requested by the opposition parties, are a dangerous option given the current political circumstances. Officials at the Central Election Committee (CEC) told the news site they are ready to organize elections at any time but that there is no indication that they could be held soon. CEC chairperson Valdete Daka said no one has contacted her about the possibility of early elections. “No one has requested this, no one has contacted us and we are not making any preparations.
