Haziri: We are waiting for CEC to publish the candidates’ lists (Zeri)

Media speculated today publishing several lists with the names of the candidates for MPs from the LDK-AKR-Alternative pre-election coalition. However, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Lutfi Haziri, said these lists are not official. In an announcement for the media, Haziri said that only Central Election Commission can make the lists of the candidates public. “CEC is the only constitutional authority which publishes the lists of the candidates after the correction deadline,” Haziri said.

Two memorandums of cooperation to be signed at CEC (RTK)

Two memorandums of cooperation will be signed today at the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Initially, CEC will be signing a memorandum of cooperation with the EU Office in Kosovo, for monitoring of the early parliamentary elections. Another memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the government of Kosovo and the EU Office in Kosovo. These memorandums will be signed by the head of CEC, Valdete Daka, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj and the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova.

Government allocates €4.9 million for early elections (RTK)

The government of Kosovo allocated today €4.9 million for early elections. Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin Kuçi said that these means are required to organize 11 June elections.

“The Office of the Prime Minster has received a request from the Central Election Commission to allocate €4 million and 944 thousand and 900, required to organize 11 June elections. I believe that these means are necessary and I call on you to approve them,” Kuci said.

Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the request of Vetevendosje movement to certify as a political party.

The decree issued by CEC, notes that this party has fulfilled all the conditions to be certified as political party. Vetevendosje movement had applied to become a political party months ago. After the decision of the CEC, this political party is obliged to hold internal elections within a six month period from the registration date.
