Vucic: Stance of Spain logical (Tanjug, KIM Radio)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, considers the decision of the Spanish Government to exclude Kosovo from the EU enlargement process as logical, adding that according to the European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani, legally binding agreement with Kosovo “does not include recognition,” Tanjug news agency reported.

“There are proposals that our disputes with Albanians are resolved prior to that, I think it is not good to maintain frozen conflict and to leave this issue to our children,” Vucic said, Tanjug reported.

Lavrov: OSCE should engage more on Kosovo issue (Sputnik)

Russia would like to see greater engagement of the OSCE in Kosovo, in order to resolve all remaining issues in line with the UN SC Resolution 1244, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov said, Sputnik reported.

Lavrov said he has agreed with the Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano, who is also the Chairperson of the OSCE, to support with joint efforts activities of this international organization in the Balkans, primarily in Kosovo.

Vucic told reporters on Wednesday that he also heard this from European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, who is visiting Belgrade, and with whom he spoke earlier in the day, and added that they discussed "many issues, including regional stability and the rule of law."

Spain says Kosovo can only join EU as region of Serbia (Vecernje Novosti)

Madrid is not backing down on blocking the EU integration of Kosovo, the Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti writes on Thursday.

However, the article continues, Spain will agree to Kosovo in the EU - but only as a region of Serbia.

The position of Madrid, Vecernje Novosti said it learned, is that Kosovo can become a part of the Union only as a separate administration within Serbia. In this sense, the Spanish have sent to top EU officials not only one written objection - as mentioned over the previous days - but several protest documents.

Drecun: Spanish stance on Kosovo favorable to Serbia (Tanjug, TV Pink)

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told Tanjug news agency Spain insists on stance of non-recognizing Kosovo.

Serbian Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin said that destabilization in Kosovo and Metohija is caused by murders such as the assassination of Oliver Ivanovic and attempts of Albanians to abrogate the Special Court and do not allow trials against KLA members for the war crimes against Serbs, RTS reported.

Kosovo issue on referendum, possibility with several unknown variables (RTS)

Upon his return from Kosovo, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the possibility of a referendum where citizens could express their stances on the Kosovo issue, RTS reported on Sunday.

Referendum in Serbia is not a common occurrence, however, over the last three decades Serbian citizens took part in three referendums on different issues.

Should there be a referendum or not, it would become known after the completion of internal dialogue on Kosovo, RTS further reported.

Scott: Belgrade-Pristina dialogue must continue (TV N1)

Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on normalization of relations must continue, despite the shock caused by the murder of the leader of Civic Initiative, Freedom, Democracy, Justice, Oliver Ivanovic, USA Ambassador to Serbia, Kyle Scot told TV N1.

The Ambassador Scot expressed condolence to the family and all those who knew Oliver Ivanovic.

Commenting on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visit to Kosovo, following the murder of Ivanovic, USA Ambassador Scott said it was “right” decision, TV N1 reported.
