Jihadis return from Middle East with "school certificates" (B92)

Extremists who return after leaving our country to fight in Iraq and Syria come back with a document certifying that they went to school there.

This document is then used to avoid serving prison time in Serbia, a penalty introduced by the new legislation outlawing participation in wars abroad.

This is what chairman of the Serbian National Assembly's Committee on Control of Security Services Igor Becic told the Belgrade-based daily Politika.

B92 and Albanian Daily News sign MoU (B92)

Serbia's B92 media outlet and the Albanian Daily News (ADN) newspaper from Albania have inked a memorandum of understanding.

The document was signed on Friday in Tirana by ADN Director General Anisa Skendaj and B92 President of the Board of Directors Veran Matic.

Under the memorandum, the two media companies will be sharing their content at no cost to either – including news, features, editorials, and columns - and strive to explore other ways of cooperation.

"Region's EU accession process has changed" (B92)

Croatia's EU accession marked the end of one accession model, Regional Cooperation Council Secretary-General Goran Svilanovic said on Thursday.

The process is now completely different for Western Balkan states due to the circumstances in the region and the EU itself, such as the economic crisis, migration and Brexit, he said.

"Europe must define itself first," Svilanovic said at a conference titled (Re)-Balkanisation of the Western Balkans.

Dacic lobbying against further recognitions of Kosovo (B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday he had launched resolute diplomatic activities aimed at preventing further recognitions of Kosovo.

He is doing so "with a series of bilateral meetings in the Madagascan capital Antananarivo, where he is attending a summit of the International Organization of the Francophonie," Tanjug has reported.

Serbia has made "major steps toward its strategic goal of EU membership by opening four very significant chapters."

This is according to EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, who also noted that "strengthening of the rule of law remained the main challenge," Tanjug reported.

NATO chief "respects Serbia's neutrality, regrets victims" (B92)

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday in Brussels that Serbia is "an exporter of stability" in the region.

Stoltenberg made this statement after his meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

During a joint press conference, Stoltenberg also said NATO "respects Serbia's military neutrality," and expressed his "regret over the loss of innocent lives" during the western military alliance's 1999 bombing of Serbia.

Kosovo police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency prevented planned terrorist attacks in Kosovo and the region. Target of the attack were footballers, and supporters of Israel during a match in Albania. Tahiri: Deadline for implementation of reciprocity agreement on license plates, is due today (media)

Edita Tahiri, Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio engaged in the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade in Brussels, told Radio Free Europe today that due to the administrative delays, Kosovo authorities did not manage to start with the implementation of the agreement for full reciprocity on the license plates between Kosovo and Serbia and remove the so-called “proba” license plates which were implemented unilaterally by the Serbian party since 2011. Vučić: Next week will be named war crimes prosecutor (Blic)

Prime Minister Vučić Aleksnadar said that over the next week is expected the appointment of the prosecutor for war crimes.

- This is important news - Vučić said at a press conference he held with the head of British diplomacy, Boris Johnson.

- This is one of the things that EC and I would say and Brammertz have criticized. We want to continue this job - Vučić said.
