Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić had talks several countries’ officials on the margins of the 69th UN General Assembly sitting in New York. He met with Spanish counterpart Jose Garcia Margalla, who reiterated Spain’s support to Serbia’s stand on the Kosovo issue.

NEW YORK - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has attended a reception US President Barack Obama hosted for the world leaders gathered for a meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The reception was held on Tuesday and Nikolic thanked his US counterpart for the invitation and said that Serbia supported in full the US efforts against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
Obama thanked Nikolic, commended him on good work and expressed hope that he would continue in that fashion, the Serbian delegation told Tanjug.
NEW YORK - EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele believes that there is a chance for Brussels and Belgrade to cross an important threshold before the year ends and to open the first two of 35 policy chapters which Serbia must address to join the EU.
“I think we still believe that would be possible before the end of this year,” Fuele said in an interview for Wall Street Journal.
Nevertheless, he warned that progress depends on the member states as well as Belgrade, since EU capitals must okay the move.

The case against Vladan Krstovic, Lazar Pavlovic and Milan Ivanovic for the attack on Ljubenic during the Kosovo war on April 1, 1999, during which 46 people were killed and 11 wounded, began on Monday at a closed pre-trial hearing at the Belgrade-based special court.
