Selaković: Constitutional Court not competent for the assessment of the Brussels dispute (Blic)

Belgrade - Justice Minister Nikola Selaković said today that the Constitutional Court of Serbia (USS) should be declared incompetent to determine the constitutionality of the Brussels agreement between Belgrade and Pristina, because it is a political, not a legal act.

The deputy chairperson of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Aleskandar Popovic said that there is a plenty of room for opposition in Serbia and that time has come for politically neutral and free Serbia.

At the DSS main board’s session Popovic said that the time has come for Serbia in which its Constitution will be respected, and that its sovereignty is defended politically and peacefully, but ‘unconditionally and with all resources’.

The barricade (Kosova Sot)

The paper’s front-page editorial notes that the agreement for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia foresees the removal of every barricade in order to enable the free movement of people and goods, but the agreement is not being implemented. “Serbia, which has great influence in the north, is obliged to respect the agreement. Kosovo authorities must not back down, but rather insist on securing lawfulness throughout the territory of our country. A barricade can be removed by force in a matter of hours, but barricades in the minds of some Serbs will hardly be ever removed.

Serbian Army, KFOR discuss cooperation (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander in Kosovo-Metohija Major General Salvatore Farina conferred in the South base near Bujanovac on Friday to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The main topic of the talks focused on the joint activities of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR in protection of the administrative line which are being implemented with a view to preventing illegal activities.

Bohnet: Germany wants Western Balkans stable (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - The visit by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Berlin and his meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel shows a new foreign policy activity of Germany, which wants to become more involved in matters concerning the Western Balkans, Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Belgrade Henri Bohnet said Thursday, adding that Germany is interested in the stability of the region.

Serbian parliament on participation in UN missions on Thursday (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbian parliament resumes the second extraordinary session on Thursday with a debate on deployment of Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) and the police to United Nations and European Union peacekeeping missions and operations.

With parliament's approval, the SAF could this year be engaged in seven new international UN peacekeeping operations and the EU military training mission to Mali.
