Bujanovac mayor says Presevo valley to join Kosovo (TV N1, FoNet, RTK)

Bujanovac mayor Shaip Kamberi said on Wednesday that the Presevo valley in southern Serbia should either be annexed to Kosovo or get the same status as the Serbs in the north, FoNet news agency reported.

Kamberi added Pristina would have huge support if it chose to adjust the borders to include that part of southern Serbia where Albanian population live. “If Kosovo chooses that path it has great support to annex the Presevo valley and if not, we should get reciprocity with the north,” he told Kosovo public broadcaster RTK.

Vucic on Pristina, tariffs, dialogue (Tanjug, B92, TV Pink)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he wishes that Pristina revokes the tariffs and to continue talks, Tanjug news agency reported. Vucic added, while there are no talks between Belgrade and Pristina, there is a danger of violence against the Serbian population.

Commenting on the possibility that Ramush Haradinaj cancels decision on tariffs, Vucic told TV Pink that Haradinaj is thinking about that for a long time.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Russian Federation Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin, who handed over to him a letter from the Russian President Vladimir Putin, sent on the occasion of Serbia’s Statehood Day, Danas daily reports.

In a letter, the Russian President said that “Russia highly values strategic partnership and relations with Serbia,” and “with satisfaction emphasizes that cooperation between the two countries evolves dynamically in the most diverse areas.”

McAllister: Vucic and Thaci raised dialogue to new level (Tanjug, Radio KIM)

European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia, David McAllister urged Pristina authorities to revoke the decision on tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tanjug news agency reported.

He noted it is not easy, however Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci have raised the dialogue to the new level. He called on the both sides to continue dialogue in order to advance on their respective paths to the EU.

Vucic thanks Moldova for not recognizing Kosovo (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met in Belgrade on Tuesday with Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova in charge of European Integration Iurie Leanca. Vucic emphasized that it was necessary to encourage improvement of political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries, since bilateral relations are friendly, but not sufficiently developed

Vucic also expressed his gratitude for the principled position of Moldova not to recognize unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, and for the country's support on this issue in regional and international organizations.

Authorities are getting ready for early elections, while the opposition pursues campaign of an active boycott. Opposition aims to fight for more equal electoral conditions and then they would consider whether to take part in the election or not, analyst Cvjetin Milivojevic told TV N1, commenting on the recent political situation in Serbia.

On the other side, analyst Dragomir Andjelkovic does not think Serbia is on the verge of an early elections, however it may get there soon. He also noted opposition is now striving to get better starting positions.

Dacic responds to opposition politician regarding Venezuela (Vecernje Novosti, B92, Tanjug)

At a time when neither the UN nor the EU have a unified stance on the Venezuelan crisis, the least we can do is not to change our position towards that country. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said this.

"Our own negative experience from recent past obligates us not to interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign states," he told Vecernje Novosti, and added: "(Opposition politician) Canak certainly does not understand that, because he at the time went to Catalonia to support a referendum on secession from Spain, which is also our friend."

Preliminary results of a scientific medical study show an increase in the incidence of malignant diseases, especially leukemia in children 5 to 9 years old. The number of children suffering from malignant diseases of blood and brain has significantly increased and since 1999 (the year of NATO's 78-day aerial war against Serbia) and has been rising each year.

Director of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies Jelena Milic said the time is not right for opposition protests in Serbia. Milic also said that now is not the moment because the finalization of negotiations with Pristina, which should be completed as soon as possible, is in the interest of the security of the whole region and should currently have priority.
