Chepurin for RTS: Russian stance on Kosovo very clear, we are against artificial deadlines (RTS)

Ambassador of Russia to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin told RTS the political cooperation between Serbia and Russia is on a high level without precedent, adding Russia advocates Kosovo issue to be resolved in a political manner within Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Commenting on Putin-Thaci meeting in Paris, Ambassador Chepurin noted that in such ceremonies as was the one taking place on November 11, there are dozens, hundreds of brief encounters. Putin is polite man. He greets hundreds of people he meets, exchanges few words with them.

UNMIK Head and Special Representative of the Secretary General, Zahir Tanin stated before the UN Security Council on Wednesday that, although one should not overlook the progress that has been made in the talks since 2013, the key to progress on the ground is the implementation of what had been agreed, with the founding of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) being one of the central points, Tanjug news agency reported.

During the debate on Kosovo at UN SC on Wednesday, the representative of Russia emphasized that he fully agreed with the assessments of Ivica Dacic, pointing out that there are serious and deep problems in Kosovo that require urgent resolution.

"The stories about some ideal situation in Kosovo do not impress us at all," the Russian representative said, adding that six years after the signing of the Brussels agreement, the Community of Serb Municipalities has not been formed, that Pristina blocked the process, while Belgrade fulfilled all its obligations.

Serbia has tried to constructively contribute to a solution for Kosovo and is ready to continue to talk with all interested parties in that spirit. Brnabic attends Berlin ceremonial dinner with Merkel (BETA, Tanjug, B92)

Serbian PM Ana Brnabic attended a ceremonial dinner hosted by the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper in Berlin on Tuesday evening. Merkel and Brnabic "sat at the same table in the ceremonial hall of the German Historical Museum," BETA news agency said.

The prime minister said that the dinner was "an opportunity to talk to the German chancellor on various issues," the Serbian government announced.

According to this, Brnabic also "thanked Merkel for all the support that Germany provides to Serbia, but also talked to her about the issue of Kosovo and Metohija."

Ambassador says no change in German stance on Kosovo (TV N1)

Recently appointed German Ambassador in Belgrade Thomas Schieb told TV N1 the official Berlin has not changed its stance on a possible demarcation between Serbia and Kosovo.

He said Germany’s stance on the issue has been clear for some time and added that other European countries and Serbia’s neighbors have been expressing reservations about the idea of demarcation.

Serbian President receives Russian Ambassador (Tanjug, RTS, B92)

President Aleksandar Vucic believes Vladimir Putin's visit to Serbia will be the most fruitful to date in terms of the number and content of agreement which he will sign.

Vucic also thanked the Russian Federation and its president for the support they give to the territorial integrity of Serbia and its efforts to find a compromise solution for Kosovo and Metohija.

Kremlin revealed what Putin told Thaci (Sputnik, B92)

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a brief talk with the president of provisional institutions in Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, Sputnik portal reports referring to the statements of Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov said that Putin pointed out to Thaci Pristina should reach consensus with Belgrade, adding that Russia would support joint decision of Belgrade and Pristina.
