The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, assessed on Thursday that during his six years of governing, Kosovo has become a paradise for the citizens that live in it, example for the region and international community.
During a lengthy speech during the opening and closing of the first meeting of the Government of Kosovo for this year, he stated that extraordinary work was done with the partners of two governing coalitions.
“These were significant years of state building, consolidation and strengthening of our state, these were important years of the declaration of Kosovo, an independent, democratic and sovereign state. Today, we have managed to make Kosovo independent, recognised by majority of the countries of the world, 104 of them, to make our new country member of important international organisation, such as World Bank, International Monetary Fund, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and many regional and international organizations,” he said.
According to him, discussions with Serbia have also been a major success, and thank to them, Serbia has de facto recognised the independence of Kosovo, by recognising Kosovo customs officers at border crossings, which lacked institutions of official Pristina in the past.
Head of the Government also spoke about Kosovo-Albanian motorway, naming it a success of his governing, while speaking about Pristina Airport, he stated that it has become the best airport in Balkans.
