“Negotiations in Brussels are on interest of Kosovo, stability and peace in the region. My decision was just and when time passes, it will be understood that this was the only way to return the north of Kosovo under Kosovo’s control,” said Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi, at last night’s Top Channel show, Top Show.

“Through dialogue, we have managed to institutionalize that part which was controlled by Serbia. Through dialogue, we have extended sovereignty in the north. We have rescued Kosovo from division, we have stopped creation of a “Republika Srpska,” or an autonomy that was being guaranteed by Belgrade government, in the north. On the other hand, with dialogue we have managed to draw back the attention of the international community that there is a problem called Mitrovica which required urgent solution,” said Thaçi.

According to him, dialogue is the only opportunity and way to start a new chapter in the relations between the states of Kosovo and Serbia.

“There were people who supported ad there were those who criticized the Dialogue. I did not understand those who criticized because they were not right. Every agreement in Brussels is in accordance with the laws of Kosovo and they gained 2/3 of votes at the Assembly. I would ask criticizers what if the dialogue did not start? What happened in Brussels was a European example of new relations between Kosovo and Serbia. There was an over a century conflict between us and citizens were used to conflicts and not peaceful agreements between us. This was surprising for them. However, above all, my intention was respect of Kosovo’s Constitution and laws. Therefore criticizers are not right. Because, during the last 15 years, in the diplomatic aspect, Serbia always lost in relation to Kosovo. I know who Dacic and Serbia are. But I have made the best decisions for my country. The next Government will not have the north of Kosovo for a burden,” said Thaçi.
