Latest developments in Northern Mitrovica have created panic, fear and concerns amongst the Serbian community in Kosovo, assessed Kosovo Strategic Action Network (KSAM)

KSAM stated that murder of the councilor Dimitrije Janicijevic, resignation and questioning of Krstimir Pantic, and detention of Oliver Ivanovic have caused panic, fear and concerns amongst the entire Serbian community in the north and throughout Kosovo.

KSAM assessed that such developments in Northern Mitrovica during election process leads to conclusion that there is a political background.

“Serbian community can’t recall in last ten years, following March pogrom, that so many unwished events in such a short period of time have hit Serbian community. Objective feeling is imposed that all those events have to do with very carefully planned action and we fear that it won’t end with the latest events,” stated KSAM in the statement forwarded to KIM radio.

KSAM representatives are requesting in behalf of the entire Serbian community from authorities, political and international organizations, embassies and all relevant actors with the leverage ‘to prevent such orchestrated process and to assist that all other cases are resolved and perpetrators brought to justice’.
