The front page editorial of this daily writes that the Prime Minister of Kosovo has found some time to talk about economy only on the verge of general elections, by the end of his second mandate. Only now, Kosovo leadership remembered that more than a billion Euros from the privatization of public enterprises have been “frozen” at different banks outside Kosovo.
The launched idea of creating a Fund for development of entrepreneurship is positive in principal, but insincere in essence. Why was this fund kept there all this time? Nothing has changed on this direction, except for the fact that general elections are coming, and current leaders would not leave a rock unturned for votes. They use public resources to attract different categories of voters.
Kosovo companies are a key to economic development. They employ dozens of thousands of Kosovars, and despite this fact, they continue to suffer consequences of corruption, lack of the rule of law, unfavorable conditions for business. There is no single reason to trust the idea of Fund, because even if it implements, benefiters have to contribute be by all means to the election campaign of political parties, says this editorial. Genuine businesses that progress independently from political parties, are exclusion, concludes this daily.
