Three more months’ detention for Uke Rugova (Koha)

An international judge at the Basic Court of Pristina yesterday extended detention for the period of three months for three defendends charged with unlawful procurement of Schengen visas from the Italian embassy in Kosovo.

“One of the defendants, Uke Rugova is a member of the Assembly of Kosovo. House detention was also extended in respect of a further seven defendants. All of the defendants are charged with the offence of Organized Crime related to the offences of Abuse of Official Position, Trading in Influence and Fraud,” EULEX said.

The case is being prosecuted by an international prosecutor from the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo. All parties have the right to appeal.

The arrest warrant that Koha Ditore had secured earlier identified criminal acts against Uke Rugova, Izet Beqiri, Fitim Beqiri, Visar Beqiri, Florjan Petani, Edison Idrizaj, Azad Beqiraj, and Hamza Beqiri.
